I happened to be talking to an in-law over Christmas who was a retired machine gunner from the 82 Airborne Division. He said he jumped carrying 1,500 rounds of ammunition as well as his weapon. He said he needed “enough to carry him over until supplies arrived”. (Note a couple of articles above this that elements of the 82nd are going into the middle east, as well.)
I suspect that paratroopers jumping out of an airplane carry less ammunition than Ospreys delivering Marines. This says to me that 100 Marines would be very well able to protect the embassy. I would also not be surprised if there were nearby helicopter and fix winged gunships, as well as a Commander-in-Chief who is not afraid to use them. Iranian terrorists beware.

This entire thing seems like an Obama/CIA/Deep State op designed to entangle Trump into an unneeded foreign entanglement in an election year.

I wonder what the timeline was on this, pretty quick response Id say, they were arriving on the 31st our time or local?
The Ospreys arrived in the dark, so had to be (our time) between 10 am Tuesday and 2200.

Bring in an AC C130. No better way to break up a crowd of militants.

Just checked BBC
As of 18 minutes ago, BBC STILL has no mention of the Ospreys bringing in the 100 Marines.
Gosh, they hate America as much as they hate their own people. Sick. Always talking down to us. So predictable.

The MV-22 Osprey has twice the range and twice the speed of the CH-46E it replaced. And 33% more payload.
From just outside Kuwait City to Baghdad was a one hour flight from take off.
And they flew home without refueling.
Amazing aircraft.

Siege at the US embassy: Pro-Iran militia storm Baghdad compound for a second day as Marines fire tear gas and video reveals how bloodthirsty Hezbollah fighter vowed to kill every American inside https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7842299/Siege-embassy-Pro-Iran-militia-storm-Baghdad-compound-second-day.html Weds: Yesterday thousands of demonstrators - many of them members of Iran-backed militia - rushed the heavily fortified Green Zone after US strikes killed 25 members of the Iran-backed Kataeb Hezbollah in air strikes One militant said: 'God willing if this fire reaches inside the embassy, we will not spare a single employee' President Donald Trump's reinforcements were engaged early Wednesday as tear gas was fired to disperse those who had spent the night outside the main gates. Several ambulances arrived to ferry the wounded Yesterday's riot, which included smashing through the embassy's security area, setting fires around the complex and hurling rocks, ended in a camp being set up outside the consulate Some 50 tents, portable bathrooms and cooking pots were shipped in as hundreds of the furious mob prepared a sit-in at the embassy's gates, demanding that the US withdraw from Iraq

Can’t we just “shoot to kill”? Please?
Notice the mongrels never raid the Russian compounds anywhere in the world?
