We need to come back with this simple fact everytime

He wasnt killled on some Iranian or Syrian battle vs ISIS
He was killed at Baghdad airport
Surgically. Only militants dead.

The IRGC method would have been to sabotage his plane. The way he killed the IRIAF commander. And others.

That’s fine... clearly we took full advantage of the situation, but wasn’t my question. I want to know why this Iranian General was in Iraq. Was he (and his Government) trying to undermine Iraq or something else?

On this morning’s NPR news program, they described it as an “assassination” and they featured a commentator who called it “an act of war.” It was also called “a dangerous escalation.”

“Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper said the Pentagon had taken ‘decisive defensive action’ against Soleimani

And because it was a defensive strike there is no need to inform Congress

I still remember an old MAD MAGAZINE takeoff on the war with Japan.

The final cartoon in that series shows FDR bowing and apologizing to the Emperor of Japan, for the ear damage done to Japanese pilots flying overhead when US Navy ships below exploded.

Democrats are not on the side of the U.S. They haven’t been for many years.

Only the Pres military and intel advisors know the whole story

But openly state he coordinated the attack on the US embassy and was planning further attacks

Did you know Soleimani coordinated the attack on the Consulate at Benghazi to disrupt obama/ Hillary weapon smuggling to ISIS?
Cannot imagine why this didnt make the mainstream...
Maybe Pelosi can investigate it now

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the CIA already has a lot of their data on AWS. I believe the FBI and SSA does as well.

I heard that Soleimani was going to the airport to buy some pork rinds and a forty to wash it down with.

I read that one reason Microsoft got the contract was that it was ahead of Amazon in what are called “hybrid cloud systems,” where there’s a mix of what is in the cloud, and what stays on client computers—the juiciest, most sensitive information. That was, according to an article I read, a deciding factor, even though AWS overall cloud structure was more developed than MS’s Azure.

Microsoft is indeed way ahead of Amazon in hybrid cloud systems and solutions. Microsoft's Express Route combined with enabling private endpoints means we can extend our network securely and privately to the Microsoft Cloud and use the cloud for elastic compute needs. That's one example. There are a number of use cases we use Azure for in this way.

Secondarily, AWS' cloud structure is not more advanced than Azure. Microsoft's connectivity between its cloud data centers globally is far more advanced than AWS in how it dramatically reduces latency and improves overall response time. We have globally accessible applications and data deployed closest to our clients using Azure and are very pleased with the results. Our clients have noticed dramatic improvements in app performance. FTR, AWS is actually changing their global data center connectivity to mirror that of Microsoft's for this very reason.

These were two of the deciding factors we used in choosing Azure over AWS as our primary cloud service provider. Having said that, not every use case is suitable for Azure over AWS or vice versa. Each has their own preferable use cases and we do deploy some apps on AWS. Azure is our primary though.

Finally, it's not uncommon for AWS to copy from Azure in how Azure does things and vice versa. Both AWS and Azure have very large data connections between them because both know many of their customers have multi-cloud strategies. They actually do work pretty well together to enable those of us with multi-cloud strategies too.

Thank you. Interesting information from a user. I’m somewhat literate technically, but much less so in matters of Cloud.
