All he needs to be is electable, they’ll deal with succession when they come to it.
I was saying the same about Hillary: these people are a way to advance a VP that the elites can control, a machine candidate who is relatively young and a cypher without the baggage ... as Tim Kaine was.

The DNC isn’t blind. There’s no way they expect this guy to win. Rush thinks they embraced him to ward off Sanders and keep their party while losing the election. But they don’t just lose. They go down swinging. Watch for Biden to choose a VP that the DNC themselves would have chosen to be the nominee if they could, then Biden steps aside for health reasons.
