Yes, but he did so in an at-risk population. What he did was more prophylaxis than treatment. There are risks to large scale prophylaxis, in that overuse of the drug may select for drug-resistant forms of the virus.
It would be helpful to know the number of people he treated who now test positive for COVID-19 antibodies.

There will be supply problems, and probably a little doctor-shopping to find docs willing to write prescriptions, but scarcity will be worse if HCQ and azithromycin are reclassified as over the counter. I'm not saying that shouldn't happen, but every solution brings its own new problems.
The studies are not stopping anyone from getting the drugs.
Something like 35 of the people Zelenko treated tested positive for the virus when he started. I don’t know how many were tested, or what the numbers are now. That would be good information.

Facci just said he wanted Large Randomized Controlled Studies before he would think about using it. Anything else is just ‘anecdotal’ to him.

An article yesterday had a one-sentence note that Malaysia has been using the HCQ/azithromycin regimen since day 1.
The data at Worldometer.info show that it is acting exactly as predicted. They are resolving cases at a rate 10X that of, e.g. Ireland, which has a similar number of cases and timeline of cases. Of the resolved cases, 93% are positive recoveries.
If you want to take pressure off the hospitals, here it is. Yet today, POTUS said he hadn’t heard how the testing is going. I hope he isn’t being rolled.

NON-RANDOMIZED studies like the one performed by Dr. Didier Raoult.
Again, I never said I was not convinced of its efficacy. I said that the studies made show that the most effective use of HCQ + Azithromycin show that it SHORTENS hospital stays by 7 days at least. That is, when they are used during the onset of symptoms after testing shows positive for Covid-19, NOT after intubation.
WE still do not know how effective it is for patients already on respirators. We do know that there are anecdotal evidence that it worked on several people who are on respirators, but I have also see it unable to rescue those some who are on respirators ( one of Dr. Raoult’s patients, an 86 year old who was on respirator unfortunately did not make it ).
THAT is the study we need to make on a large scale, not randomized, but non-randomized ( it would be criminal to withhold it on people who could be helped ).

I haven't heard anyone say it isn't true, so I don't know what to think. If he is crazy, I would think someone would bust him.

I'm not at all anti-Zelenko. I think he served his patients well, and perhaps extremely well, saving lives. That's what he was trying to do. He seems to be quite bright, not crazy, and not any kind of quack.
If many of his patients would take tests showing that they had COVID-19 antibodies, proving that they had been infected, his case for the efficacy of the HCQ drug combo would be much stronger. His detractors do not know what to make of his results, because he did not require those to whom he gave the drug combo to have tested positive for COVID-19. Some of the patients probably just had colds or allergy symptoms. Some say that he gave safe drugs to 900 people and proved that they were indeed safe drugs, not that they cure COVID-19. He needs the antibody tests to prove his detractors wrong. My guess is that what he did worked exactly as he intended it to, and that he saved lives, but that's just my guess.
