The term should be “population immunity,”. “Herds” are groups of animals, not people. Sounds almost as if the public health officials who came up with the term want to dehumanize us, as if we’re not distinct from cattle.

Well, Sweden is more free than the USA.
Maybe we are a herd...

Well, that’s the term that’s been used since forever, frequently in the context of vaccinations.

They are also not as fat as we are. The Chinese Flu targets certain physiology.

Yeah. Kind of like reproductive health. Another dehumanization term. Commies love that stuff.

Currently, their death rate (per capita in general, not per infected) is roughly the same as ours. We’ll see.

Sweden’s approach was not possible with a Republican president facing a re-election. Whether it was Right or wrong is not relevant, it was impossible.

I don’t disagree with what Sweden did, but their number of deaths per million are higher than in the US.

Death rate os Sweden has shown that the entire shutdown has been an absolute fucking mistake.

Ah yes, Sweden. Where the death rate is three times higher than the recovery rate. We should all aspire for such eye popping statistics.

The US shut down has been political. The press and the dems are using it as a weapon against Trump and as a leap forward in collectivism.

Likely Trump will come out of this with a roaring economy by July 4, and a B+ grade in handling the outbreak. Personally I would give him an A for action all while holding off the press hyenas.

The US is 33 times larger in population than Sweden. So multiplying the current number of deaths, 1,540, by 33 and you get 50,820 compared to the 40,555 deaths in the US. So about 25% more deaths, but the impact on the economy is far less.

Yes, they lost a lot of Swedes born in Somalia, Yemen, Syria, etc. Read on:

These are good graphs:

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/daily-covid-deaths-per-million-7-day-average?time=2020-03-05..&country=BRA+DEU+ITA+ESP+SWE+CHE+GBR+USA

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/total-covid-deaths-per-million?tab=chart&year=2020-04-18&country=BRA+DEU+ITA+ESP+SWE+CHE+GBR+USA

You can add countries. You could add Belgium.
