I don’t doubt that Mattis has issues.

However, the notion that Trump is all-knowing, all-seeing is simply wrong. It’s not that the information isn’t there, it’s that Trump would need an army of researchers looking at stuff daily and doing nothing but briefing him on this.

Indeed, this points out the biggest weakness of the Trump presidency, personnel. He has had to go through far more people in some positions (Press secretary, Chief of Staff, Sec State, National Security Advisor) because of the absence of good recommendations.

This is understandable. When he came in, there was no “Trump Party.” The # of people at a high level with any kind of expertise in Middle East politics, oil, trade, etc. was limited. Now take out all the DemoKKrats. That reduces your pool further still. It wasn’t possible for Trump’s transition team (which was very small compared to Reagan’s) to do anything BUT rely on what were often recs from Deep Staters.

If Trump had had the MAGA version of the Heritage Foundation when he came in, it would have solved a lot of his problems. So I don’t think Trump “has” anything on anyone. He’s way too busy for that.

the “please select me as SecState” private dinner photo of Rommey with Trump, was quite telling, and he had the NSA intercepts from Admiral Rogers and the Tower “tap” and a whole lot else he did not get from obamaumao’s evil clowns.

Not saying Trump knows all-—but he has an excellent network of people from his world organization (not Kushner)— and during the transition, which was completely mismanaged by GOPe clowns and bushies, and oppositionally screwed up by obamaumao’s created coup to hide his 8 years of domestic surveillance that is being ferreted out. The hilary/bill cartel is still there screwing things up, and together with obamaumao (the “deal” they cooked up) created the russia russia waste of 3 years. But it started with General Flynn— and hinges on his deep knowledge available to Trump and especially to Barr.

It is fortunate we have a master survivor of NYC monsters of Leftist politics, as well as the world of construction, to work around these vicious moron democrats.

I was on the periphery of the transition, working with Bannon. The people being sent to Trump were “qualified” in traditional terms. No one had time to go through every person’s Twitter or FB feeds to see if they were Trumpers.

When Reagan came in, Ed Meese had, with help from Heritage Foundation, a list of 300 people pre-vetted and ready for senate approval within a month. In the first place, no one was going to do that kind of free work for Trump, whom they all thought would lose.

Second, Trump won with a very small team compared to even Reagan in 1980. Merely beefing up his own internal team was going to absorb a lot of qualified people.

Third, Trump honestly believed a lot of these people like Tillerson would willingly serve the UNITED STATES (if not Trump) and that he could count on loyalty. He was wrong.

Throw into all that the candidates who were coming in recommended from Paul Ryan, some of the senate people, and the Bushies, and you had a very difficult time filling positions.
