I wasn't able to play the video at the link, so I can't verify that the chief actually said these things. Has anyone else been able to play the video and confirm what she said?

Another ambiguity is whether some or all of these alleged crimes were perpetrated by the occupiers themselves, or by other people who live in the area or have come into it.

I live about 12 miles northwest of CHAZ, about a mile outside the city. CHAZ is located on Capitol Hill, east of downtown, and is the center of the gay community and a hotspot of leftist activism. If any neighborhood would welcome this takeover, it is Capitol Hill, but I suspect that support is mixed even there.

The area has a fairly large business district, a lot of apartments, and some very expensive, very classy older homes. I suspect that the residents of the latter are the least happy with what is going on.

This was on the same day Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan called the anarchist takeover of a six-block section of Seattle “patriotism.” Early this week, recognizing that anything short of a military-style defense was a waste of police time and put police lives at risk, the Seatlestan police abandoned the Eastern Precinct. They shredded important and confidential documents, boarded up the windows, and walked away, leaving the people, whom they serve to the mob’s mercy."

There was a half-hour vid of some guy walking around the streets at night, going back and forth between the “festival” with music and the boarded up abandoned police station, where poetry was being read. It all seemed quite tame, and the narrator was saying repeatedly nothing violent going on, all peaceful.. oh, and look at this dog, and this puppy.

However, there are buildings there, with people inside. There are the wee wee hours, and the alleyways. I have no doubt all is not well living in the peoples republic of Chaz.

I remember following the threads on FreeRepublic and everyone having the expectations of the labs we'd find, and the stockpiles of WMDs. I was a believer myself. Then it turned out like Geraldo and Al Capone's vault.

That Saddam had and used the WMDs in the past wasn't the justification used for the Iraq War. The claim was the stockpiles and labs he was CURRENTLY threatening the peace with. I don't remember them finding anything more than old stuff manufactured before the Gulf War in the early 90s.
