No, Bert. ACTUALLY it isn’t “old run of the mill common sense.”

You see, Bert, God helps those who REALIZE They CAN’T help themselves. It’s called the Gospel of the GRACE of GOD. “For by GRACE are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves (that would be helping yourself) it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should BOAST”. Eph. 2:8-9.

Also 2 Cor. 12:10-18.

Sometimes “old run of the mill common sense “ can lead a person straight to hell, all the while thinking God helps those “WHO HELP THEMSELVES”.
