All this posturing and peacocking means nothing to any of them except a further consolidation of wealth and power.

I believe his legacy will be safe as long as no one actively reminds Senator Leahy of his participation in Byrd’s bill to restore citizenship to Robert E. Lee.
After Senator Leahy leaves Byrd may be a goner too.

Maybe they can expel all those Confederate states from the union as well.

I suppose that statue of Byrd could be seen as commemorating his 14-hour filibuster of the Civil Rights legislation, hmm?

These people are to ignorant to understand that the gray was husbands, fathers, brothers and sons too. In many cases they were kin.
They are also unknowledgeable in the understanding that only the army of Northern Virginia surrendered at Appomattox and with several other Confederate armies still in the fight, the leaders decided not to continue the war, their last orders, thus not giving us our own Vietnam here in the US circa 1865. If that had happened, chances are we would not have been in WW1 or WW2; so what do the current political geniuses think about that?

The very men who fought to stop southern secession had no truck honoring them but the cowards today stand for nothing
Same worthless GOPe as 1866 Sumner and Stevens
And democrats have completely and utterly lost their minds
We really need a new party
Would that Trump was 60
