It was a series of engagements over several hours - into the night. Folks kept going back to get more of their guys for the next round. They were using sticks/clubs wrapped with barbed wire.
By the end, dozens were killed on each side. Reportedly, the Chinese took the most casualties due to bunch getting forced over a drop into the river.
