Lots of great restaurants in El Paso, but there were dozens of hole in the walls along Alameda Avenue that served incredible Mexican food.
My father in law served the finest Chile Colorado I have ever tasted, while my mother in law's green chile enchiladas were incredible. Fortunately, my wife knows how to fix the enchiladas...preferably with Hatch chiles.
>>>still regret selling our little Rental Condo when we moved out of CA.
Didnt want the Renter Headache.>>>
I understand about the renter headache. That’s why we keep our condo just for us. I love it. I get in, have fun, eat at my restaurants, ride the beach and mountains..I love Rancho PV and Trump Country Club ride.....up to Malibu.etc. etc. Dana point, Angeles Crest....and then I get out. Usually about 4 days and it’s less than 3 hours on American Air. Can’t beat it. Thanks.
🤮
Those look delicious!
If you want sheep, you need to destroy the non sheep...
I’m happy for you and what you like. I like when people are happy. I’m happy too. Aren’t you happy that I’m happy? The Sizzler Salad Bar makes me happy. I will be there on Thursday in Orange. Aren’t you happy for me? :)
One of the easiest recipes I’ve seen for this treat.
Yes!!
Hatch chiles are the best, for making Enchiladas Verdes. I bet your wife can make a mean platter of Chiles Relleños, tambien :-)
I make my red sauce from scratch, with the dried Colorado/cascabel chiles.....soaked in hot water, strained, and ground/blended, by hand, in the food mill.
Yes, Alameda has all of the great hole in the wall places. Good Luck, Hamburger Hut, #1. 2, 3, lol, etc.
Im with ya on Sizzler. I enjoyed them until they went out of business in my area.
Cheers.
There’s a fast food franchise here in North Texas, Chicken Express. Their corn nuggets aren’t bad. Your fritters look better though. Probably a few levels above Chicken Express.
Post your garbage over at DU so you can bamboozle folks that don't know how to use Google.
Sizzlers in Farmers Branch (serving the Metroplex) and one in Rosenberg, serving the Houston area. They had another up at Spring, but it's closed now.
And for Mexican restaurants, get out of the lily white HOA and head over to the barrio. If the wait staff speaks English, you're in the wrong place.

Actually, they are still in business! From Fountain Valley, Old Town Orange, Fullerton, and still awesome Salad Bars, good little Steak and corn nuggets. I think they will stay open through their Chapter 11. I think they will survive. Maybe check your area for one. Good luck. Thanks!
Sounds like we agree on the reason ;-)
I can’t figure out why there haven’t been lawsuits, from these restaurants, against these governors and strict lockdowns.
I called an iconic Texas saloon and spoke the an assistance manager to ask if there was a coalition....within the state....across the country, etc, and she didn’t know of one. There’s a small group who tried to protest at the (Austin) capital, but not very many owners showed up. Really strange.
You can’t catch China flu at Walmart, buying beer, while rioting...drinking/doing drugs.... but you CAN catch it sitting in a bar/restaurant....six feet away from the next table.
The National Restaurant Asscn is a joke. Their website says....We’re here for you! Let us help you manage your Covid restrictions, yada yada. No mention of lawsuits. groups fighting to open, etc.
Really sad.
Sizzler was in Texas when I got here in 95. They got booted out of the Texas restaurant market in the 2000s.
The multiple E. Coli incidents and the rat poison in food incidents didn’t help.
Yes. I’m so stinking happy that you’ll be at the Sizzler salad bar, in CA....and, that I will NOT!!
Seriously...enjoy your trip and your dining experiences :-) I mean that.
>>>Sizzlers in Farmers Branch (serving the Metroplex) and one in Rosenberg, serving the Houston area. They had another up at Spring, but it’s closed now.>>>
They are all closed. Years ago. I live 5 minutes from Farmer’s Branch and arrived 11 years ago. Drove by the vacant building they were in.
YOu are a fool but you can apologize later. Next time, go to the Sizzler corporate website and hit “locations”...learn how to really use Google. They left Texas a decade ago......fool. Hostile fool....u people are bizarre.
Closest one to me is in Gallup, NM. 2 hours away. Guess I gotta go there. :)

LOL..yeah, I believe that. Keep posting about roaches and bugs.

When we first got to North Texas, we drove hours away north to Oklahoma just to eat at a Marie Callenders. We were desperate. Go for it! Yeah, I think there might be one in NM. I think I recall seeing that somewhere. Good luck.
