A fool at my office, was spouting off a couple weeks ago the occupation in Seattle was peaceful and the people left the place cleaner than it had ever been. Says stuff like that all the time. He is a major head so he gets his yesmen unconditionally.
Amazed at the delusional ignorance.

I don’t think Wheeler is to “Sarah’s” right; he’s just old, tired, unimaginative and complacent. She wants to increase housing affordability by lowering construction costs; how many lefties understand that you don’t make housing affordable by preventing housing construction? Seriously: I live in Northern Virginia and 100% of the housing affordability issue is based on how we’re going to prevent people from building profitable housing!

The government regulations on construction is what drives the cost of housing up and God forbid during construction some fricking critter shows up that COULD BE endangered!! The ENDLESS permitting and inspections are just so cumbersome I don’t know why anyone builds anything anymore!!

I guess you're determined the beatings will continue until morale improves.

35 years ago I worked in an office of engineers who supported the GCOS 8 operating system. There was a very nice guy, Johnny, in the file system group who had this saying on a small cartoon outside of his office cube. Johnny was Hispanic. Johnny's cartoon was slightly different: The beatings will continue until moral is improved.

I took a small post-it note and put it on the bottom edge of the cartoon with this message: Who is this guy Morales? And why won't he improve?!

The founders only had one real flaw in their building of the nation, and that’s their inability to determine the gullibility and/or stupidity of the people.

People, starting in the late 1950’s, have been dumbed down and allowed themselves to be categorized into a phylum and have accepted it. Being “neither on the victims nor the executioners side’...they are simply people who follow the current and are complacent with it and consider it normal. There is no extreme, no danger to themselves, and they can full fill their lives quietly hiding in their own collapse until they are over the cliff. That is what’s going to happen if a state reaches the point of antifa control. With their attitude, their actions, and their after the fact commitment to violent control to keep their doctrine rolling, they will cross the line and a lot of people will be harmed or killed. And it will start in their homes when some of the people feel they have been forced out of their phylum enough to fight back. And it will get ugly because the current crop of animals the antifa uses will not be cops...they will be gangs of murderers.

The citizens forgot, or never learned, what happened at chop. It fell apart because they couldn’t get the services like fire, medical, police intending to help....just the normal things the phylum calls for to keep them in that perceived comfort zone. It will happen in Portland even with the mayor’s position. It happened in Seattle without their mayor stepping in. Wait for the fireworks.

And the feds can’t step in as it is a state responsibility for crime unless antifa can be considered a terrorist organization. The bill to do that is still in the senate (S.Res.279) and has been since it was sent to the judicial committee July 18th.

Their members look like a wall at the post office:

https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/about/members

So don’t look for anything to happen there soon. And in the meantime, it is in the hands of the people of Oregon...until it crosses the line and the citizens become the rioters against their own state and their own elected officials that can be supported by the feds if requested (national guard). A true slippery slope they are enjoying sliding down.

“And we’ll notice the difference how?”

If they light themselves on fire before jumping you get a better show. Longer flaming plummet.

How would you like to be a long time business owner stuck in these soon to be Schmitt holes?

Grew up near Seattle. The old timers were/are salt of the earth types. Jackson/Magnuson Democrats at worse, which looking back were pretty good representatives for the most part. Have family members that were long time Democrats that are horrified now.

That’s the natural progression of leftism. Portland is well into its Bolshevik stage.

Delayed development post hippie gurus. When the “dirty lowdown” hits them...they’ll go back to decaying nature and entropy for their temporal salvation.

All the local cops who have been deputized federally will be fired? I am surprised they haven’t been fired yet.

“Only landowners could vote back then.”

But the representation in government was based upon population and not districts like it is today. The guesstimated population of the original colonies was only 2.4 million. That number wouldn’t even cover a suburb of many cities now.

And I feel the reason for their lack of forethought on growth was their wishing to leave the determination of change to the future people after the founders were gone. But they didn’t put enough or any way to protect the system they created for the freedom of the people when common sense goes out the window. All that can be done to protect the people from themselves is watch until it is considered a terrorist act or act upon federal property/people. This is why the bill sitting in the senate is doing nothing as the libs there can’t afford to have their tools cramped and be implicated in the attack on the people is so very important.

The founders put nothing in place to assist the possibility for the right reason, but through their own doing, created the wrong outcome. Their beautiful document, the Constitution had a loophole created in it with the 10th amendment, passed by Congress September 25, 1789, and was further backed by the courts with a case that has been declared to be a truism by the Supreme Court in United States v. Sprague (1931).

So the lawmakers, and the law appliers agree that what I mentioned could be made to happen. And I don’t think it will be in the best interest of the people in Portland as any court cases could also establish precedence in questionable actions for the state to use. Like I mentioned, slippery slope. They can re-invent state government, legally.
