Reminds me of the Brazil hospital lies/fear.
People busted in, to confirm the terrible numbers being put out, by the hospital....only to find.....MOSTLY empty beds on just about EVERY level.

They freaked out a couple of weeks ago because “cases were increasing” so they are requiring masks in stores and other places. They ramped up testing here in Utah, that’s why the cases are up, but deaths are down!
This entire thing stinks of fraud!

I need to go down to the SLC VA for most of the things I need, was there two weeks ago after having not being able to see anybody in person since last May.

I have an idea. Stop elective surgeries. Then you can turn your pre op and PACU areas into ICUs. You can also ship your overflow pts to colorado We have plenty of room. You can also have your national guard set up field hospitals but they have never been used in places they were set up before. In other words do a little planning and stop pushing the panic buttons

Hospitals are institution that change at a snails pace. Internal bureaucratic inertia and turf wars. Regulatory obstacles. Healthcare organizations have had seven months to ramp up and get their bed allocation, skill mix and material management in order. I doubt many facilities have changed their ways except to learn how to upgrade their coding practices to claim federal covid funding.

That’s probably mostly true, but SLC specifically, is very liberal. The Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News are both liberal rags!
