Many of us on FR have been saying this for quite some time. The party is not salvageable. It's dead. Put it on the other side of the grass where it can lie with McCain and start over with a new name, new branding but original conservative values.
They didn’t even have the smarts to wait until Trump is out to show their true demon selves, Pence and McConnell. I’d love to see both of them dropped from a U.S. military plane over a shark filled ocean, as they are clearly enemies of America. They are so reprehensible, such traitors, that the sharks would probably refuse to touch them. Oh well, there’s always orcas...
He’s one of my Senators and I just fired off an email to tell him that I’m ashamed of him if he really did say this.
I HOPE he is saying this as a sop to people who hate Trump, and not as a signal to how any future Senate votes about Trump will go.

Is there a chance Kentuckians could recall / impeach Mitch ? The skinny is that his margin of victory was way, way, waaay out of balance with other races and polling which hinted at a coziness with Dominion.......ah ha ! another reason to bury DjT.
That is actually what I have prayed for for the last several years. Let everything be exposed. No more hiding. Sunlight kills viruses and vermin.
McConnell seems to really want to be the man most responsible for ending the Republican Party.
There won’t be any impeachment trial, so this is just MCConnell positioning himself to have to live with Schumer. Throwing Trump under the bus at this point serves no other purpose.
