IOW, Missouri is declaring themselves a “sanctuary state” against federal gun laws. If it’s good enough for California’s embrace of illegals, it ought to be good enough for Missouri and the second amendment.
I guess that’s your experience. On the occasions that I’ve worked with them, it’s been a request.
Granted it was usually folks from a joint Task Force, where the locals and Feds already had a relationship, but it was a request, nonetheless. I never saw anyone say No, so I never saw it go further, obviously.
But, there have been times where they’ve acted alone, things went sideways and things got very heated between the Feds and the Detectives.
Of course, the Feds would throw out the fact that they “outranked” everyone, we don’t fall under your jurisdiction and didn’t have to comply with the locals, as they didn’t have to play by local rules. Which is what they did with the Lavoy Finicum case, where the locals allowed the FBI to steam roll over them.
It’s like when FedZilla throws out the Supremacy Clause when it’s convenient.
However, I’m not so sure these waters have ever been tested. What will they do if/when a Sheriff, or some other agency head, says...Get the f*ck out of here. While there are a lot of FBI personnel, not all of them have guns. Cops/deputies outnumber the Feds by a long, long way. One of the reasons there are so many task forces out there. Time will tell if it gets that far.

Although I agree with the governor’s thinking, this “Balkanization” of the states does the country no good.
Here in Oklahoma, we are a 2A sanctuary state. Feds attempt to confiscate, State troopers/Sheriffs will intervene. Tyranny will at some time need to be stopped. There will be bloodshed. That’s why I live in a VERY red state.

Question: Does it have a provision to prevent the federal agents from enforcing their unconstitutional laws?
If cities and states can choose which immigration laws they will enforce, then why not other laws?

It does the country all kinds of good! Do you not understand we were never intended to be a single monolithic superstate with 50 subordinate provinces?
The individual states were and are sovereign, almost like individual nations, with their own internal governments and unique personality, with the federal constitution serving as a “treaty” to cover only specific, defined areas that need to be addressed in common. All other powers not specifically defined in the multilateral treaty, aka U.S. constitution, are reserved to the states.
Many if not most of the terrible problems in our country have come because we have allowed the Federal government to grab more and more power it was never intended to have!
There are people with influence pushing national disunity and potentially more. The questions that needs answered are who are they, and why are they doing it? Someone has been working on this and it seems those who run and influence the MSM news media are front and center. The MSM news readers get a script published by these people and it originates and says the same thing.
