I wouldn’t trust this FBI on a bet.
As far as we’ve been told, it wasn’t exactly a ‘corpse’. it was bones.
But on what evidence are you basing your opinion?

Well since both were reported missing in Sept. by both parents. I’d imagine now being Oct. his remains were surely badly decomposed....probably skeletal. Especially since the area he was found was previously under water.

The notebook might be interesting and reveal some clues about what happened.
The fact the area he was found was recently under water is also interesting.
IIRC, he was making purchases with her card, and the charges added up to $1,000...? Maybe he was trying to make her appear to be alive by making purchases with her card? Or, maybe he just figured he'd take her money now.
Either way, he probably didn't intend to kill her, and then he panicked.
Poor young woman never expected her great cross-country adventure to end this way.
Soon we'll hear the cause of death for him, I suppose... Expecting it to be suicide. Or maybe not.

All I’m saying is that I doubt he planned her murder. It was probably done in a fit of rage. He seemed to try to cover it up in a hurry.

100s of acres spead out underwater that no one could get near. The FBI never went into those “areas” completely. I heard that clip this morning. Dogs are great but they can’t pick up scents 100s of yards away.
Local radio this AM was playing a clip with the attorney and some reporter from last night. The attorney seemed pretty aggravated at all the notion the Laundries planted the “body” at the scene. His explanation made sense.
But the reporterette was smug - as they usually are - and told the attorney people wanted answers. I thought to myself, the only answers people want are to the crazy-ass stories people have made up and that have been propagated through the media. The same stuff that the brainwashed 24x7 cable news junkies and internet “sleuths” ingest everyday. The real answers are most often the most simple.
Remember, the media’s job is to generate interest, which results in more viewers, which means more ad revenue. So they had to keep people talking about it. How else can they pay for the helicopters that fly around showing video footage of LEOs walking around the wilderness? “Oh, a tent is being put up!” Excitement - over a tent.
It was always possible, maybe, likely. Story after story. Repeated so much people actually started to believe these things. Just a few days ago CL was said to be communicating with BL via a burner phone. Really??? Good gosh ppl have lost their minds.
