A technocrat govt is indeed people on the ground, but they are prison wardens or water plant operators or electric ministry. They can and will be local civilians.
The policy enforced from the air is saying no to imported tanks and fighter aircraft. They get followed back to whatever domestic base and eliminated.
As for the Russian people, he polled 75% support a couple of weeks before Ukraine. He is clearly laser focused of Russia’s well being and 100% disinterested in the preferences of Russia’s enemies. Why would the Russian populace want someone who is not those things.
It is an existential threat to civilization itself. Nitwits who prattle about globalization don’t see that. Those of us who understand the great patterns of history, do.
If I’d somehow get some money sent to my family to support them, I’d happily go. Esp. if I could confront that Russian negotiating team before getting shot.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suicidal and I’d like to squeeze out another 10 reasonably good years or so. So far, it’s been much more good than bad. But, as any true soldier knows, and Jesus taught, my own life is not all-important.
Unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll let me in. (Too old, etc.)
Let me know if you know elsewise.
If not, that’s ok too. A determined plan to crumble Russia’s economy (far more than the sanctions and such put forth so far) can do the job and make the US richer and more powerful, and (given a few years) make the world more secure. I can promote and support that as I can. Assuming none of Putin’s assassins take notice. ;-)
“...unless Russia continues to limit it...” Limit it??!!! They broke the peace and released Hell on my kin. They shelled civilian areas of Khakov because they were mad they were not welcomed. And your detail about Ukraine being rough on separatists ignores the separatists murders of patriotic Ukrainians. There is a body dump in the woods near Alchevsk with cadavers of loyal Ukrainians who were murdered by foreigners imported to support the sepratist movement. Alchevsk was a thriving steel mill town when it was under Ukrainian control. Now it is a charity case.
Afghanistan was a terrorist state.
What is the excuse here?
Sick to death of the Putin apologists on this site.
Would Ronald Reagan have said this is none of our business?
At the minimum, we should be doing airdropsnof food into Ukraine.
Tucker would have watched while Nazi Germany conquered the world. Not in our interest doncha know.
I’m surprised Pat Robertson is still preaching that was amazing in itself.
In reverse order:
That was before the invasion. And Bush 1 was wildly popular during GW1. The economy ticked down a bit and we know how that ended up. It will take more than a little unpopularity in Russia because Russia is not remotely a democracy. IF (granted a big if) the West gets serious, it will take time, but Russia’s economy will be toast. If the wrong people lose too much money, Putin’s gone quickly. However, it could well take longer and then reach more of a 1917 scenario. Interestingly, so far the Germans have made a decent start.
I’d be surprised if tanks and planes are involved from the resistance side of a resistance movement. Javelins on down, probably.
LOTS of puppet Afghan officials became fertilizer prematurely. Plenty of Russians did too: Popularity at home plummeted, the Russians wearied, then decided the whole thing was just impossible.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I just don’t think the current Western-influenced Russian population, esp. those under 40 or so, has a stomach for large scale atrocities, continued bloodshed, physical and monetary isolation from the West, and a continuously deteriorating economy, all while the West if it is smart is doing all it can to influence that population.
We shall see.
Whole bunch of African conflicts during his term he didn’t intervene in. He also didn’t intervene in the Malaysian communist uprising/civil war. He didn’t even intervene when the Soviets openly interfered in Sri Lanka, which started a 23 year civil war and ended up with a Communist victory.
So, yeah, it’s entirely possible that he might have just said it was none of our business.
Most.
They actually have pretty decent doctrine. The Ukrainians need their government to resign, then it’s over. Instead Zelensky keeps trying to draw it out. He doesn’t care about his people. I don’t have s dog in this fight, but damn it’s dumb. They kept poking the bear over and over and now they got bit. I just hope civilians can get out of the way. There’s already been a lot of Ukrainian on Ukrainian fire. They all got rifles and no training, they’re shooting each other in a panic and in the chaos. It’s terrible.
Zelensky antics are all propaganda. He’s sacrificing his people.
At any rate, the west needs to stay well away from this.
WTF? The Russians are not using precision bombing. They are indeed targeting without respecter of persons.
Putler is about to do what he wanted all along:
Murder the Ukranians into submission.
There is only one way out for Russia now...
One difference between last Friday and today is that today if you throw a Molotov cocktail, you're cut in half with machine gun fire. This wasn't happening last Friday when Molotov cocktail throwers were treated with the same deference by the Russian military as Antifa in Portland are by the police. The restraint is quickly vanishing.
Scores dead, huh?
Chicago has a higher body count than Putin.
40 mile long convoy stopped because of ‘logistics’ issues, aka out of fuel.
Farmer hauled off an abandoned TOS-1A - does not have to declare it as income ...
You are a SICK LIAR.
Ukranians are all over the internet confirming that Russians are beginning to bomb residential areas and commit war crimes.
Putler is about to do what Russians always do in war. He’s gonna Stalingrad them.
I must stress that these Putler defenders are damaging us.
They want the civilians to flee and get out of there ... I believe their advance will stop at the Ukraine so they can totally control the resources and the Black Sea

Less than 1 million have fled - mostly foreigners, women and children.
Heading to Moldova next, per war plan shown in Belarus. Transnistria will definitely fall.
Russian are having huge logistics issues in the North, while troops entering from the Crimea are having some success, having captured a small town and taken the bridge to the East side of the Dnieper. Question is: whether those troops go North and up to Kiev or East to Transnistria and Moldova (not a part of NATO and is officially neutral).
Good thing you weren't around for the American Revolution. "Washington, why are you trying to draw this out?"
