You people.
If you had called the "Pope" a practice character for the Antichrist, I'd have agreed.
But "No!"
So, "You people."
Just "Wow!"
I wonder which kind of “grooming” is worse: Pervs in public schools, or “catechism” in RCC schools.
BOTH ignore God’s Word.
Actually the so-called unanimous consent “unanimous consent ” of the fathers is one of much imagination in its common supposition, and rests upon the premise of magisterial veracity in choosing who and what is to be cited, and among the realities that Newman had to face was that the Vincentian maxim, "Now in the Catholic Church itself we take the greatest care to hold that which has been believed everywhere, always and by all," required the art of development of doctrine, and which made use of forgeries for support.
It does not seem possible, then, to avoid the conclusion that, whatever be the proper key for harmonizing the records and documents of the early and later Church, and true as the dictum of Vincentius must be considered in the abstract, and possible as its application might be in his own age, when he might almost ask the primitive centuries for their testimony, it is hardly available now, or effective of any satisfactory result. The solution it offers is as difficult as the original problem. — John Henry Newman, An Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine (New York: Longmans, Green and Co., reprinted 1927), p. 27.
See here overall, by the grace of God.
"At this point, I instantly recognize and respond only to the the voice of the shepherd. No other voice can attract or hold my interest or attention"
Which is not the Catholic position for assurance of doctrine and it is essentially no different than the seeming majority of FR RCs who reduce the veracity of modern RC teaching to their judgment of conformity to historical RC teaching they pick from and as they understand it. That is the reality of the "consensus of the faithful," and with so many relegating Francis to being a non-Catholic that the RM at least threatened to remove the caucus labelled from threads which attacked him as such. You essentially claim consensus with ancients, but not only is this divisive but it is faulty since they are not the sure standard for doctrine, which the magisterium claims to be (thus Rome "judges them more than she is judged by them" - Catholic Encyclopedia: “Tradition and Living Magisterium”) but which Scripture is, as seen in the NT. And the enduring establishment of writings of God was not based upon conciliar decree any more than recognition of true men of God were, but upon manifest heavenly qualities and attestation which led to a actual consensus of the faithful, which councils are to ratify.
We aim to please.
okay doomer.
Thanks. OGINJ
