Unless they build a few nuclear power plants, if they mandate electric, EVERYBODY is going to see their power rates go through the roof, not to mention blackouts and brownouts.

The current grid can not support large scale EV use.

Period.

The other side of the coin is, with all electric vehicles, California Air Resources Board will have something like 70 percent less reason to have employees and money.

They need time to figure out how to save their jobs.

To Rats reality is the enemy. It’s “unfair”, you see.

Their whole futile goal in life is to demolish reality, regarless how much pain they cause in the attemp at their inevitable failure.

Only if the extra power needed for the EVs come from nuclear and hydro.

Members of California’s Air Resources Board today questioned the practicalities of their staff’s proposal to ban gas-powered vehicles,

12 of the 14 members are appointed by the Governor.
They will do what they are told.
Its been this way since CARB was created.
It allowed CA to mandate environmental change without anyone ever voting on it.

The masters of junk science escapism desparate Democrats running State of California would probably have some credibility if they approach what they regard as problems in the following way.

Democrats first need to test their ideas on a small scale with eager volunteers, building on their increasing practical knowledge, instead of pushing mandatory, one-size-fits-all, follow the money remedies for government-manufactured crises that are the trademark of the post-17th Amendment ratification, unconstitutionlly big, alleged election-stealing, elite Democratic-pirated federal government.

Insights welcome.

Also, Trump’s red tsunami of patriot supporters are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.

Again, insights welcome.

"Members of California’s Air Resources Board today questioned the practicalities of their staff’s proposal to ban gas-powered vehicles"

And there is most of the problem with the Rat party. Most of their Staff are Ivy League Millennial Marxists who have never lived anything but an upper crust worry free life.

“I am lower class. I am under the poverty level,” said Sherry Chavarria, a Dinuba resident. “How can I afford a Tesla? The people that get the incentives are the upper class.”

Silly woman. Do you really think the elites, who are behind this, really care about you? That's what mass transit is for. Your only purpose is to vote Democrat and keep them in power long enough to where they can seize control and abolish the vote. Well, not really abolish it, but you'll only have one candidate to vote, just to keep up appearances. And that will eventually be done away with too. The elites have this all planned out.

The big number of jobs is in regulating and inspecting gas stations, vehicle inspection stations, etc. Thousand of places to go around that state. A couple of big power plants? Not nearly so many jobs.

I just heard U-HAUL will be creating an electric U-HAUL truck. It is for people who wants to move INTO California. At the state line, it runs out of juice so you’ll have to push it... 🤓

Back when I was still working, I worked with a guy who was already looking at mean average global temperature and carbon emissions-before that was even a thing. He took annual worldwide crude oil and natural gas consumption and estimated the tons of CO2 that would be generated assuming 100% combustion. He then put a photo of an elephant on screen and said if the elephant is total annual CO2 emissions for the entire planet, only the tail would represent man made combustion of petroleum. Maybe the elephant has two tails now, but the analogy still works. I can’t remember if he included coal or not - too long ago.

And assuming 100% conversion of petroleum products covers all the energy to produce, process and distribute them too, not to mention any electricity generation from them.

He said the vast majority of CO2 comes from Mother Nature herself - largely from biomass in the oceans.

Compared to all the burning of stuff the rest of the world does the US contribution and impact on climate change is what????? The hairs on the elephant tail?

Is that worth wrecking our entire economy while the rest of the world laughs their asses off at our foolishness?

It is all political.
