The dead weight will leave—the cream of the crop will stay. Wait till the starving time comes—people will be lining up for any work.
Manufacturing is a different story. There are many jobs that do not qualify for remote work.
I work with engineers, logisticians ect. And all of them have performed admirably during remote work. They are promptly available online at starting time and often because of no commute, many volunteer to work late at no charge. My longer distance commuting team members now work at least partial days when they have a doctors appointment or family engagement (they used to mainly take the whole day off due to their commuting distance). We have the ability to ping someone online so it is easy to see if someone is actually working.
Primarily everyone understands that remote work is a perk and not a right and they know that if they abuse it, they will lose it. I can only speak to my personal experience but I see my team more productive and happier than ever. Before we started remotely we had a fairly significant employee turnover and now all our skilled members want to stay onboard. We have not lost anyone in over a year and a half.
PS….. our performance metrics and customer satisfaction metrics are the highest they have ever been, even exceeding management’s goal levels.
His company, my rules.
Experts Say...
Have these “experts” created multi billion dollar companies?
Did you see his full interview with the guys from the Babylon Bee? ‘Cuz after seeing it, I hadda admit I didn’t previously have a grasp of what kind of animal Musk is; I had been reading him very wrong.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend watching the whole hour and 40 minutes:
