Well technically the British empire legacy continues in the UK, India, Australia, Malaysia etc
Why is it a travesty for a person whose grandparents were Indian, to become prime minister?
Rishi sunak was born in the UK and his parents weren’t Indian citizens.
The fact that he is ethnically punjabi is no different than that Benjamin Disraeli was ethnically Jewish yet was a great British prime minister.
What open conflict in punjab?
There are 3 Punjabs
The province of Punjab in Pakistan. No conflict there.
The state of Punjab in India, majority Sikh. The khalistan issue is only in Canada.
The state of haryana in India, majority Hindu.
What open conflict do you mean?
I guess you’re right...even if there is a WOG PM.
Many ethnic Indian workers were expelled from Kenya and Tanzania in the mid-late 1960’s and went to England.
They had a Welsh PM in lloyd George. That was a century ago
Also worth noting that Muslims are well represented in government leadership in the UK.
If you'd care to just google, India was very rich till the British pillaged her out of $45 Trillion in todays money. Besides killing millions of Indians in artificial famines caused by the diversion of Indian grown grain to Britain and Europe.
Most of the modern mathematical knowledge was known to ancient Indians long before the Europeans came to know of it via Arab traders.
And the poor governance of the first 65 years after Independence was essentially caused by Indian pols who craved the acceptance of liberals in the West rather than do what Indians needed done.
I'm calling BS
That’s because you don’t read any books before commenting. The British went to India to trade primarily because India was very rich. Until 1810 it was 20 to 25% of the world’s GDP
