A Russian insider view of the complexities and problems the invasion poses for the Russian economy.
this is a view of the Russian economy because of the war, and is not about the ware directly.
The article has 30+ embedded links, I'm not going to spend a hour formatting all of them.

The real tactical mistake is Ukraine pulling ALL of its reserves and garrisons from Odessa, Kyiv, etc., etc. and throwing them in current ‘pushes’ to maintain momentum. It’s like one huge backdoor invitation which surprisingly, the Russians have not jumped all over.

“It’s like one huge backdoor invitation which surprisingly, the Russians have not jumped all over.”

The Russians sure like those back door invitations.

If your rear is exposed having no one their to defend a penetration of enemy forces, which was effectively demonstrated by the successful use of multiple drone attacks not far from Kyiv yesterday, is not your backdoor exposed?

Ha....

The Russian Generals lack the resources to do as you say. Aside from the fact the Generals have experienced huge losses in men and material, the lack the logistical capability to move their assets around impedes what might be good deployment of troops.

As a side note, many Generals have been killed in action. Quite a few more have been fired. It is unclear who is left to command

“The Russian Generals lack the resources to do as you say.”

Or do they?

“Aside from the fact the Ukrainian Generals have experienced huge losses in men and material, the lack the logistical capability to move their assets around impedes what might be good deployment of troops.”

Fixed/Corrected

“As a side note, many Generals have been killed in action.”

We talking Russia here, Colonel-Generals, Generals, etc. are a dime a dozen and easily replaced with experienced officers.

“If your rear is exposed having no one their to defend a penetration…”

Like I said. The Russians sure seem to like their back door penetrations. Civilian women, their own conscripts, sheep…..

Current events on the battlefield say otherwise.

No they don’t.

Taking undefended open ground indicates nothing other than one can take undefended open ground.

See the vid provided below of the cities and towns the Ukies are taking in this current push which has them pulling in all their reserves, garrisons, etc.

On the other hand, Bahkmut about to fall.

Biden admin probably welcomes this Russian invasion as a nice distraction from their mistakes.

“Biden admin probably welcomes this Russian invasion as a nice distraction from their mistakes.”

Except they keep making the situation worse and worse and worse…

You mean besides thinking that any one else in the whole world would appreciate him invading Ukraine?

It’s like one huge backdoor invitation which surprisingly, the Russians have not jumped all over.

Because they can't:

a) Ukraine's lines of communication are much shorter, so they can move troops around more quickly than Russia can assemble them in the north which would be detected almost immediately;

b) Russia would need Lukashenko's cooperation to launch a second attack from the north. Not sure that would be forthcoming.

Russia has moved some assets back into Belarus and has recently launched some air attacks from there.
