Biden Charges Secret Service to Rent Cottage Next to His Home

The Secret Service pays the vice president $2,200 per month to rent a cottage next to his waterfront home outside Wilmington, Del., FoxNews.com has confirmed.
The Washington Times first reported that Biden has raked in more than $13,000 since April from the agency tasked with protecting him, and under the terms of their contract could make up to $66,000 by the end of 2013.
“The amount provided is based on a government formula, not set by the homeowner...”, according to a Snopes article about the Clintons when they bought a house in NY and had their security detail live on the property. If true, then what all did that amount entail, and did Trump accept payment? According to the Snopes’ Clinton article, the Clintons didn’t accept payment, although it’s standard practice that whomever the SS agents are renting from is supposed to get paid. If the Clintons didn’t, and we know how money-hungry they are, it seems unlikely that Trump would, since he seems to be far more grateful to those who work around him than they are.

Obama had vacations half way around the world to Hawaii. Did anyone question how much that cost tax payers for secret service and plane usage? Hawaii is one of the most expensive places in the country. We (the taxpayers) flipped the bill for that.

It’s my understanding that the $1,185 was the cost for several agents and the government rate of $201 was the rate for just one. I’m not sure where I got that information, but this issue came up some time ago and someone made a point of that difference.

This assumes that Government Rates were available. Government Rates are capacity controlled which means there were only a limited number of rooms that could be rented at the Government Rate.

Probably GSA travel per diem rates for lodging, meals and incidentals for us worker proles. All of which, of course, go out the window when it’s the President’s security detail or staff. Hell, I’ll bet Blinken’s entourage stay in hotels well above per diem. This is garbage.
He also donated his $1,600,000 salary for the four years, so the government came out ahead.
I was living in Kailua when that mutt came to Hawaii every few months. I know houses in that neighborhood rent out anywhere from 4000 to 15000 per night. It was hell when he came. And more hell when he would go out for a shave ice because they would close all three cross island highways.
