I wonder if that is the same thing across the nation?

“About three years ago, Amazon bought a large warehouse in Maryland. Hundreds of grey vans delivered out of there. They did all kinds of renovations.

A few weeks ago, they moved out.”

Yep. I was working on a construction project in Iowa four years ago and we were having difficulty getting skilled tradesman on our job because Amazon was building a massive warehouse/distribution center and using all the skilled labor to do it. I drove past the facility once before it was finished, but man it was huge.

I was told by an associate that lives in Des Moines that the facility is essentially operating on a skeleton crew, and not due to robotics but due to a downturn in business. He says there is lots of talk that it will be shutting down soon.

That’s funny. I could have sworn I’ve seen Amazon employees crowing on TV ads saying how great the company is and how they have advanced and gotten so many raises after a few years.

I guess it’s not each a great company now.
