Seriously though, “glitches” like this don’t just “happen.” Software that was working at 2:00 AM doesn’t simply stop working at 2:01 without an identifiable reason. In most cases, that reason is human.

It was probably already back fully operational, he just wanted to take credit for it.
We should all send prayers up for the safety of those flying today, too, because who knows what is really going on.

I'm a relative noob, but when I lurked it would have been earlier in the thread.

There was a similar outage in the Phillipines a few days ago. Are they both running windows ME?

Correct. I’m married to a 20 yr Avionics USN Ret. SCPO, then taught it for 20 years, ended as Dept. Chair of a Tech College. Still does Math Zoom classes for Extras at 82. Even I pick up some of the stuff he taught. I was taught to wire lamps in HS.
