I leave near Cook County (Chicago), and we have a lot of Spanish speakers come in. My Spanish is rusty, I need practice (especially medical jargon - I’m German/Polish ancestry), but I use a translator app when I have to fill in blanks. We have Spanish-speaking techs, but we don’t always have one on duty.

When illegals come here, they are almost always already sick. It’s WHY they come - they can get better care here in the US and have it paid for by us. After spending 6 years on dialysis and having spent so much time in hospitals since I was 15, it infuriates me as both health care employee and a patient. Many are grateful, but those who take it for granted need to GTFO.

It really is infuriating. Recently, I had to take my husband to his surgeon for a recheck as he was having some problems. It was a last minute appointment and when we arrived, the waiting room was packed. There were some obvious invaders in the mix with the entire family there, kids included. Many elderly people left standing as all the children were occupying the seats. I got my husband into a seat and had to go outside to my car to wait because there was no room!. Common courtesy non-existent with this bunch. I don't recognize my own Country anymore.
