As president, Trump approved a law increasing penalties for mishandling classified info. It could come back to bite him.

This whole case is a farce, and everyone knows it. There is no justification for Stalinist tactics against a political opponent.

“There is no justification for Stalinist tactics against a political opponent.”

Since when have the communist/leftist Democrats needed “justification” for anything that they do? The means to an end is their only justification for accomplishing their agenda goals and priorities. And what We, the People want or think is always going to be dead LAST on their list of “give a damns”.

What the H.E.L.L. does an act amending FISA have to do with the documents at Mar-A-Lago?

I do believe this is the pertinent law.

“Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.”

My question now is this. Is the President of the U.S. or former president and officer, employee, contractor,or consultant of the United States? I don’t believe he falls under any of those categories. I don’t like to rely on Wikipedia but I have no reason to disagree with their take on this,

“An officer of the United States is a functionary of the executive or judicial branches of the federal government of the United States to whom is delegated some part of the country’s sovereign power. The term officer of the United States is not a title, but a term of classification for a certain type of official.”
