A few years ago, a homeless man started a fire beneath a major overpass in Atlanta. Traffic had to be rerouted for months. However, the GDOT got on the job and hustled and the bridge reopened a couple months ahead of schedule. Philadelphia should contact Georgia officials to find out how it was done.

It has been decades since I was in the area, but even back then the roads in Philadelphia were in very poor shape. I can’t imagine their road maintenance has improved over the years since the 90s when I was there so it will probably take a while for the roadway to be fixed. Since that time years ago, I’ve sworn off going anywhere north of the Tennessee. LOL

This is strange for sure. What percentage of I95 has an overpass above it? What day and time would you pick to destroy the bridge with the least amount of traffic? Way too many things just perfect to not suspect it was done on purpose.

One of my long time friends is a blacksmith, now retired. I used to watch him make stuff out of iron and steel.

learned a lot just watching and drinking beer.

It is amazing what one can to do metal after it gets red hot.

Can’t remember his name, but he was good. The city wanted to dock his contract because he finished too soon!

This happened in Jersey to Rt 78 maybe ten years back. They said months to rebuild but got it done in a couple weeks. As they should.

The detour route is going to be very active, for many months.

Don’t you get it. Explosives were planted under the bridge before the fire. /s

In the Northridge earthquake a section of the freeway collapsed. Caltrans said it would be about a year to repair it based on their resources. So in a brief moment of clarity the government turned to a private contractor and let a contract to repair the span. Included were clauses to incentivize the contractor for early completion. They managed to get the freeway up and running several weeks early, while meeting all quality standards. There is a lesson here for the government to learn, if they are interested in doing so.

I feel sorry for any commuters having to take a detour route through the streets of Philadelphia. I hope that some survive.

Here’s an article about a miracle worker out here in CA, C.C. Meyers. He’s retired now but his company is famous for rebuilding critical damaged roadways ahead of schedule, and cleaning up on the daily bonus his contract with the state would pay for finishing early. The article talks about replacing two bridges on the Santa Monica freeway. Scheduled for 144 days, finished in 66, collected 200k daily bonus.

Hopefully they have someone like that out PA. Even so I can’t imagine getting this overpass replaced in less than 2 months, working day and night. I have visited PH many times. This will be traffic pattern failure on a scale maybe never seen before. It’s going to be an epic disaster

With leftist Josh Shapiro as governor? This repair will be done quickly only if Shapiro himself uses this route.

You posted as I was writing mine. See my no 32. We’re talking about the same guy, CC Meyers. Didn’t mentioned in my post, but each time he’s pulled it off, it has been the unanimous opinion that the hefty daily bonus was money well spent . This problem needs to be fixed with all speed. He’s company is still around; perhaps PA will hire them

“Way too many things just perfect to not suspect it was done on purpose.”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

DING DING DING !!!

We have our winner.

Pretty easy terrorist job. Hijack a fuel truck, park it under a major overpass, ignite, run.

If that is the case, which I strongly suspect it is, it will be buried, and we’ll never hear about it.

But that’s 65k gallons of fuel only if it is full, full.

And we know that airlines love to by AV gas in California.

The whole idea is nutty.

I will stick to my own conspiracies, like the Deep State is alive and well and stealing elections right and ... well, right only.
