The Secret Service is under the Department of Homeland Security. The FBI is under the DOJ.
Threatening the president of the United States is a federal felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. The Secret Service investigates suspected violations of this law.
Again, why was the FBI there and not the Secret Servive?
You just do NOT make threats against someone with more guns than you. He paid for his stupidity, the gubbmint has the power and the manpower to preemptively clear threats before any event, and they do.

It’s probable that not many individuals in his age group utilize social media, so if the FBI relied solely on this to profile him, it makes sense. I’m curious if the FBI executed a no-knock warrant, and perhaps his dog or something else alerted him, leading him to investigate with a gun.
Rightwing Twitter is already openly calling this an assassination. Cernovitch, Loomer, etc. Cernovitch is saying the old guy needed a cane to walk.
We need much more information before drawing any conclusions. I can recall the raid on Roger Stone in the wee hours of the morning with an excessive show of force and conveniently covered by CNN.
We are being fed FBI propaganda now, but no answers about the factual circumstances surrounding the shooting itself. What triggered the use of deadly force? Was the man armed? Any of his family members present?

The FBI just shot and killed an elderly brother in our ward. Financial clerk for years. Sweet guy. Full swat team. My wife is good friends with his neighbor, she and her 5 yr old were terrorized. Wife went to check on her. His body is still laying in the street. My God.
