If it were a Rep. adamin and this happened the anti-war people like ANSWER, etc. would be in the streets weekly, Dems in congress, etc. would demand a plan to peacefully end it.
Nope. This is a defensive war. Much like WWI. But with drones and missiles.
“However, this will be short lived, as this was cause Russia to take Odessa and other parts of Ukraine.”
Not gonna happen. Russia is barely hanging on to what they have now.
But it would make the "Punish Russia" crowd here SO happy!
> WTF are there NO PEACE TALKS????? <
I’m no expert (or maybe I am). But two things are clear to me.
1. Russia will never give up the eastern Ukrainian provinces that it took.
2. Ukraine (and NATO) will not reward aggression, and just accept the loss.
So what to do? I would suggest something like the Gadsden Purchase. The United States wanted some Mexican land, as was strong enough to grab it.
But Mexico would not roll over, to save face if nothing else. So a deal was struck. The United States would buy the land it wanted.
The same should apply here. Russia should buy the Ukrainian land it already occupies. Pay a fair price in gold and natural gas. That way every saves face, and the war ends.
Following that methodology, Ukraine should be paying Russia for the land they took from them.
Whoa whoa whoa, Poland just isn’t patriotic!
When rather overt threats to activate Ukrainian refugees as some form of belligerent force within Polish borders are made, I'm thinking they're pondering rather deeply about security.
> Ukraine should be paying Russia for the land they took from them. <
Such an argument is not unreasonable on the surface. But it will lead to a tangled mess of angry dead ends. Because what about the Hungarian territory taken by Romania after WW I? And what about the German territory taken by Poland after WW II? Etc., etc.
Nope. It’s time to let ancient history go, and focus on the borders that existed on the day Russia invaded Ukraine.
Side note #1: I deliberately mentioned the Hungarian case. I’m of Hungarian descent, and there is still great anger among my older relatives (and among Hungarians in general) over Hungary’s territorial losses after WW I. Not kidding. It’s a very serious sore spot even today.
Let it go, says I. It’s ancient history. It cannot and will not be changed. Focus on now and today instead.
Side note #2: if you ever make a visit to Hungary and want to make friends fast, just mention how unfair you think the Treaty of Trianon was. You’ll be the toast of the town!

This episode is the best example yet of the man's abject ingratitude. Poland has taken in over a million Ukrainian refugees and per capita has donated more military equipment than any EU nation.
GREAT MOVE by Poland, and better late than never, as ANYTHING done to end the killing in Ukraine will bring peace that much closer.
“Poland knows they are next...Putin isn’t going to stop.”
Link please.
“Russia has already said they are next.”
Link please.
The Polish are smartening up to this evil globalist dictator Zelensky.
Couple of zeepers today stated that the Poles gripes over grain had nothing to do with their support in the war against Russia.
LOL
LOL
“Putin isn’t going to stop.”
Sure he is.
He has no choice.
“Reason for this is because as Ukraine has no more army for all practical purposes, they will be relying on long ranged missiles being provided by NATO. We will read about successful strikes within Russia (actually real this time).”
Some will get through, but the problem, of course, is QUANTITY. Remember, until 18 months ago, the people who are now telling you that Russia will TAKE OVER THE WORLD, worried so little about Russia that they only built token quantities of defense systems, and then, in many cases, left them to rot.
As with other systems, NATO will shoot its wad, and then be right back to where it started. Think “Stinger”, “Himars”, and very soon “Storm Shadow”.
Russia would probably be happy with the December 1917 armistice line. In Ukraine it was the old border with Austria-Hungary.
