Trump’s theory is the correct one. Do nothing until you have to do something. Then do it fast and dirty so it never has to be done again.

I believe the theory can work in some/many circumstances -- but clearly not all.

Take the disaster that is the latest version of another war -- Israel v. Hamas.

That disaster has been brewing since the early 20th century. There is no right side -- only wrong sides and many wrongs!

A few world leaders over the last fifty or so years have tried to resolve the mess, but in the last twenty years, the effort to resolve the dispute has waned, or even worse (picking one side or another).

There are logical arguments on both sides and in the case of the Palestinians, generations of hate that build with each generation to the point where we find ourselves today -- Armageddon.

The ISIS-like attacks on innocent people are horrific and must be avenged. BUT, the real blame lies with the so-called leaders of the free world, who should work to resolve this mess through diplomacy. This disaster was actually created by the British over 100 years ago.

Until a reasonable agreement can be reached, this war will continue and could easily spread to the world.

The nexus of the disaster is the Apple.

The nexus of the disaster is the Apple.,

Could not agree more.

But there have been many events in history after that apple that sure pushed the process along :-).

The modern version of that push goes back to the promises the British made in carving up the territory and making promises to both sides (actually, many sides) 100 years ago, some of them secrets only to be discovered later, which led to this hate-filled war.

In other words, lies and distortions that live with us in more than ample quantity by our government and their accomplices to this very day.

The mistake the British made was thinking that tribal people would ever enter modern society.

The mistake the British made was thinking that tribal people would ever enter modern society.

That could be part -- but not all. They certainly believed the rest of the world was inferior (jingoism).

I don't know if you're a parent, but if you raise a child, they do eventually grow up and begin to think on their own. Some develop at a greater speed than others (some never develop).

So, it seems the developing world is growing up now. I'm pretty sure they don't like being pushed around and bullied with threats and sanctions from the bully now that they see the light.

Maybe there's a lesson.

Just sayin.
