I see a large non-lethal weapons (NLW) piece to incapacitate and rescue hostages in a tunnel environment. That will likely come from the Marine Corps since they are the Executive Agent over the DoD program.
It’s just a matter of finding the ventilation shafts.....and everything has a signature.
The IDF is turning those tunnels into graves even as people casually scan this thread. They are searching for heat signatures and evidence of activity by air, and roto-tilling the ground with high explosive tipped penetrator warheads, disrupting tunnel systems, generators, safe houses, and infrastructure, and won’t stop until nothing is left.
IDF needs to hold fast.

Generators make noise and have hot exhaust ports. Be pretty easy to spot by drone, given enough time.

My first thought. One of the many technothrillers I’ve read had a scene of some abandoned WWII tunnels uncovered in the 1980s with corpses of American POWS who had been tortured by the Japanese.
