Back in the day, when cable TV first came to Dallas, it was Time Warner cable. My roommate and I went for the “Full” package, with 4 movie channels. But even with that, once you watched the “Blockbuster Movie of the Month” on each movie channel, then most of the rest of movies they showed 24/7 were “B” movies.

It was a nicely packaged box of poop, imo.

I remember those evenings. First The Wonderful World of Disney and then Bonanza, a great way to spend Sunday evening.

And Bullwinkle was in the Sunday evening lineup somewhere too. I have fond memories of our whole family watching Bullwinkle and Disney when I was a little kid.

Please, this is a fake headline if there ever was one.

Disney is buying HULU.. this has been known for YEARS that they were going to exercise their option to buy this service out from the other companies involved with it.

All they are doing is saying once we buy HULU we will combine our streaming service and Hulu’s into 1 rather than have 2 streaming offerings.

Fake headline.

DIsney owns a large part of HULU and has had an option to purchase the rest, which has been KNOWN that they were going to buy it all out for a long long time now.

This headline is just BS.

Disney is buying out the rest of HULU ownership, exercising its option to, and simply announcing once they do that they intend to combine HULU and Disney plus into a single streaming offering rather than continue to operate separate streaming services.

Headline is a joke...

My TV is wearing out so when it does I think I’ll get one of those. I have two Roku’s but my husband is 85 and wasn’t able to use his. I put it on another TV. He knows where all of his shows are on DTV so I leave it alone. I have been shopping for digital antenna’s because I’m so far out in the country, between two big hills, and can’t get good reception if it’s not connected to satellite. I’m hoping I can find an antenna that will get out over these hills so that I can cut the DTV someday and save a fortune!

You may need to have an outdoor antenna professionally installed to get the height to receive far away signals.

Many TV stations stream their News and Weather on Roku channels. PBS also streams on Roku for no fee.

That’s why I like the Roku. I get it over my satellite Internet.

I bought some DVD's with all the "Rocky and Bullwinkle" shows for my nephew (who, not so coincidentally, is named "Rocky").

I hope he likes it.

When I watched it as a little kid, my brother and I always laughed at different things from that which got a laugh from our parents.

As a young adult, Rocky & Bullwinkle reruns appeared on some cable channel and I watched. I understood the reason for my parents laughing at the parts we didn’t get and obtained a whole new appreciation for Rocky & Bullwinkle.

So not shutting down. Just doing the smart thing. The 2 sets with some things living in both places was always a silly idea. Actually 3 when you’ve got ESPN+ which also has stuff doubling into Hulu.

That’s not even close to true. They’re still pulling from comic arcs.

If they were pulling from the comic arcs, they should still be making movies that make a billion dollars at the box office.

They ARE still pulling from the arcs. Right now they’re pulling from one of Kang the Conqueror stories, and they’re in the stages of the arc that created the Young Avengers. That was never why the movies were successful. There aren’t nearly enough comic nerds to make a movie a blockbuster. They were successful because they developed external appeal. The problem they’re having now is there’s much back story the audience has been reduced to just nerds. Only a nerd has the patience to wade through over 200 hours worth of content spread 20 odf movies and a dozen TV shows.

When they were making the phat money they had so much cross appeal the guy who owned the gym I worked out at (very jock) was asking (2nd gen nerd) about the characters in the post credit scenes. But people like him have lost interest.

Too much content. There’s a reason nerds like comics. Nerds like having “sacred scrolls” to study. We want stories built on stuff from a decade ago so we have to reread that stuff. We like playing games with 1000 pages of rules. And we like TV shows with 40 seasons scattered over 12 series. Tomes of lore make nerds happy. And scare regular people away.

Then of course there’s the general franchise fatigue. Even Mission Impossible flopped.

Disney Executives Admit: Of Course We’re Grooming Your Children: Multiple Disney employees admitted their own personal missions to deluge 5- to 9-year-olds with as much of their own sexual ideology as possible.

Disney isn’t just grooming children with radical sexual propaganda — now they’re bragging about it.

On the heels of Florida’s new Parental Rights in Education law, which bars educators from instructing kindergarten through third-grade students about sexual ideology, multiple executives and employees from the Walt Disney Company admitted their own personal missions to deluge 5- to 9-year-olds with as much of their own sexual ideology as possible.

One Disney executive boasted about her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and efforts at “adding queerness to” children’s programming, in leaked audio published by investigative journalist Chris Rufo on Tuesday.

“Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my, like, not-at-all-secret gay agenda,” said Latoya Raveneau, an executive producer for Disney Television Animation. “I was just, wherever I could, just basically adding queerness … No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me.”
