I’ll take that to mean that the IDF has Hamas bottled up in the tunnels with no where to go.

Yeah, it's unwise to negotiate hostages with terrorists in the middle of an existential war and kind of a crazy deal if the terms are correct.

I kind of doubt that many hostages are still alive so 20 days are a stretch

As with anything in war, everything depends on how both sides execute their respective plans and respond to the acts of the enemy.

Hope the IDF has a proper plan in place and that they know what they are doing.

The saddest of the facts of this already sad affair is that Israel's true enemies are outside members of the “world community” that is working hard on engineering Israel's destruction.

Time is on their side - not Israel's, and this agreement is Hamas prevent defense to stall until their world community allies can mobilize and block Israel.

Much of the war from an Israeli perspective is winning the propaganda war for world opinion

And the world community and world opinion does not give a darn about 250 Jews held hostage by Hamas terrorists so not real win here for . If this goes bad in a big way it is a self inflicted wound on the part of Israel.

Some areas in the North are as you say, but even there, when the babies were evac’d from the al-Shifa hospital, they were in van type ambulances on usable streets / roads.

Given the apparent “additional day for each additional 10 hostages released” I’d expect Hamas to release some and string things out.

There a Gaza citizens and Hamas. The IDF controls all the roads. The IDF wants citizens to evacuate. I’m pretty sure that movement is under surveillance to exclude Hamas troops.

The Question now is where are the people going to go once the IDF begins the real attacks on Hamas in the south?

It incentivises the taking of hostages. When the savages plan for round 2 after Israel calls it quits, they will now know that all they have to do is grab Israelis. No need for a full on rampage. Does the idiotic Israeli leadership know what it has done. Someone needs to to tell Israelis ‘Its’ ok, you don't have to be more noble than any other army in the history of warfare.
