The Gang of Four was a Chi Com group tried for treason for the excesses of the Cultural Revolution.
This gang of this number and that number cliche is so trite, so stupid, just inexecrable , along with such favorites as a bill being “dead on arrival,” “kitchen table issues,” “fair share,” and “doubling down.” When I’m king use of these cliches will be a capital offense.

6 year time is fine the Founding Fathers had it right for the right reasons. The horrible mistake was the 17th Amendment. It made the just another version of the House. Severed the senator from his job his only job that of representing his state to the federal government. Repealing the 17th Amendment would solve most of the problem.
Please read the Federalist Papers!

Gang of 8, gang of 6, gang of 4…..
Gangs should not run the USA. There are more than 8, 6 or 4 elected officials.

The big thing is...that they’re keeping it as a separate bill. Biden had it lumped..
To: Eleutheria5
H.R.2 was passed in the house in May...under McCarthy...it then went to the Senate where it is lingering.
It's a good strong bill...and it is on line in its entirety.

I’m surprised that Cornyn isn’t one of them...

There are things that can be "adjusted" in the bill. The important thing is...it stays separate...
not part of the hodge podge of Biden's bill.
You really have to read the entire bill to know what's happening.
It's a good bill.

6 year time is fine the Founding Fathers had it right for the right reasons.
The country and the constitution are quite different from when the constitution was ratified. States have been largely subsumed by the federal colossus. Senators no longer represent states. They represent themselves, and too frequently the interests of foreign governments rather than the states. The six year term enables senators to do this. Other countries have an upper body which serves to temper imprudent legislation without giving an upper house 6 year terms of office. The Senate is a millionaires club. The more I see it in action, the more I want it reformed.
The horrible mistake was the 17th Amendment. It made the just another version of the House. Severed the senator from his job his only job that of representing his state to the federal government. Repealing the 17th Amendment would solve most of the problem.
There is more popular opinion to repeal the 19th Amendment than the 17th Amendment. It will never happen. Limiting campaign contributions in state or by Congressional district may be possible, but popular election of senators is here to stay.
Please read the Federalist Papers!
Try reading some history. The Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth went from being one of the largest, and most populous countries in Europe to disappearing from the map because its Senate was so corrupt, and foreign powers bribed senators to kill legislation. How much influence does China have over McConnell and other senators? Too much. Senators lie to get elected and then we need to wait 6 years to remove them, if we have honest elections. The senate seats in GA and PA were essentially appointed by the state's executive branch and illegitimate elections. Our senate is corrupt and causes great damage to our country.

There’s no reason to preemptively surrender Of course there is -- they're Republicans. Preemptive surrender is their only strategy.

No, it's Jeffersonian:
“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.” ― Thomas Jefferson

I think you need to read more on Jefferson.
I did and I’m not quite the fan I was in my younger days.

To return to the topic of the thread, Jefferson, and the Anti-Federalist took a restrictive interpretation of federal power through the Tenth Amendment, and did not agree that the federal government had the constitutional authority to legislate immigration, which appears nowhere in the text of the constitution. Federal courts have now declared that states have no authority whatsoever over immigration, even when a person has violated the laws of the United States to enter the country. Considering the flood of illegal immigrants invading the country, contrary to the Guarantee Clause, the Anti-Federalist concept of limited federal powers should appeal to more conservatives.
