Really?
I mean this with all due respect
Few freepers know anything about Haiti other than
It’s black and failed
And run by a warlord named BBQ who isn’t called that cause he likes ribs
And was a money pit for the toons
It’s a serious problem with millions (7) on a gator jaw shaped nation incapable of supporting them all
Only conclusion I came to after years there
Was a decent dictator like Cedras who we deposed and betrayed is required
And disperse half the population to 100 nations worldwide
It’s a mess
Worse than the Congo or Liberia in ways
We’ve already done it twice
Only stability they’ve ever had sans papa doc
And when most infrastructure was built
Money shot
If you do, you will see that the same thing is happening in the Allied nations of WWII, and the Axis nations didn't have far to tract their way back to their beliefs. Japan might be the only exception because they are economically exhausted, as we are rapidly becoming as well.
May the Lord open your eyes and allow you to see the truth, which thus far you have denied.
Another Clinton debacle aided by Papa Bush
The Dominican Republic is safe if you stay at the all inclusive resorts.
I am not sure I would rent a villa like I have personally done in the BVIs.
The same thing can be said with several other Caribbean islands and Mexico.
With DC you have to be careful outside of the resorts at night. Just like there are places in Puerto Rico that you do not want to go(or Detroit, Baltimore, NYC, etc)
You also do not want to drink the water because you may get sick.
Like all vacation destinations, you get what you pay for.
The highest standard of living in the islands is the Caymans. The next highest is the BVIs. I have been to both. They tend to be more expensive than other islands. The Cayman dollar is actually worth more than the US dollar(1.2). It is probably the safest place in the western Hemisphere.
In the BVIs there has been one or two murders in the last twenty years.
I have also been to Playa Del Carmen, MX and Cabo San Lucas, MX. I prefer Cabo over Playa. However, Playa was just getting developed when I was there 26 years ago. I think it is better now. My daughter is there now.
I have also been to Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. Maui is the most expensive of the three. Oahu is the most crowded. I actually prefer the Big Island of Hawaii. Although, I really enjoyed Pearl Harbor.
Thank you for the info and advice. My wife and I will likely do a one time trip to Hawaii and wanted to make it count.
Thank you for your thoughts and personal observations. I pray for them as well.
Perhaps at some point, trees may be replanted and allowed to grow to maturity again.
And the young people to be able to live and grow to maturity as well there, with some hope for the future.
You are correct. But we must include baby Bush too.
If I went back to HI again I would probably spend a little more time on Oahu. We were only there for a couple nights. One full day that we mostly spent at Pearl Harbor. Which I would greatly recommend.
Maui is very expensive. Probably the least expensive way to stay there is to rent a condo in Kihei. It is much less expensive than staying at one of the resort hotels. The other issue with Maui is that eating out is expensive too. Food is expensive there. You will need a cart to get around.
A jeep is best because there are roads on the north side and past Hana that you have to drive a Jeep style vehicle on. It voids you rental car agreement with a regular car.
The Big Island is a lot less expensive. There are two basic sides to the Big island: dry and wet. The Kona side is dry. The Hilo side is wet. We stayed about 20 miles north of the Kona airport. Everyone goes to Costco just south of the airport and loads up then they go there.
If you go up to Waimea there are grocery stores there that were not that much more expensive than home. Especially on beef. Waimea is cattle and horse country. There are huge ranches up in this area.
The Hilo side is poorer side. It is also very pretty because of the rain. It is jungle. They grow everything on that side of the island. You will see farms of Palm trees, coffee, everything grows well there. There are huge waterfalls. You better bring a rain jacket though because you can literally get caught in a downpour.
There are two 13m’ high mountains. The one with the observatories on the top you can drive up with a car. However, we had rented a Mustang convertible. The day we tried to drive up the road was closed above 9M’ because of ice/snow. A couple days later it was open IF you had a 4WD vehicle.
We never went to see Kilauea volcano national park. It was not erupting at the time. We also never went to the south side of the island. IF it was erupting, I would have. We were on the Big Island for about a week. You need at least a week on each island.
Day Z but in Haiti and with way more zombies.
I like it.
I think some of the responsibility for this fiasco is the Clinton’s fault and their stealing all that money they pretended to give Haiti.
The Clintons may have stolen money, but that money was from American citizens. The Haitians did not make that money ,they were not entitled to it, therefore whatever has happened to Haiti is the responsibility of the Haitians.
I am just imagining the total chaos of Mogadishu on a scale a
thousand times larger. Substitute the local gangs for the
Somalian warlords and you are there. I guess it wasn’t enough
that the Biden administration threatened Americans that their
sons and daughters would be fighting in the streets of Kherson
if we didn’t give even more aid to the Ukrainian money-laundering scheme. Now they are throwing in an all-expense paid Caribbean vacation.
They helped direct a lot of money to Haiti for rebuilding, etc., and nothing was really ever done. Why should they not bear some of the responsibility for what has happened? Haiti has always been a pretty sorry place for a very long time, lost cause as far as I am concerned. Wasn’t Papa Doc and Baby Doc the dictators there for years and years?
What I am reading on social media is Haitian’s blaming the US for their problems. Yes, Clintons stole the money. But it wasn’t our responsibility to give it to them in the first place, the Americans who donated got ripped off.
I guess I am tired of hearing that the US is to blame for all the worlds problems.I bet you Biden is going to get our troops in there, just like that pier in Gaza is going to trigger American military involvement.
Nothing in Haiti is the U.S.’s fault. Isn’t it interesting that on one side of that Island is Haiti that is a true scum pit and the other side is the Dominican Republic which functions quite well and is peaceful and you can bet that they will take no refugees either, they know better.
They really don’t see it, do they? Bizarre.
Maybe Haiti will get better in a year. Or 1,000 years later.
