John Roberts believes a partisan majority may vote its enemies into prison. Jan 6 committee issued Navarro an illegal subpoena, in violation of his basic 4th and 5th amendment rights, no oversight interest, no probable cause or search warrant—and with malice. Navarro asserted that Congress had a separation powers constraint, ie the idea that Congress full of politicians do not have absolute rights, and —although no judge ever decided if Navarro’s assertion was legitimate, Democrat partisans voted him in contempt of Congress—-a rogue, lawless, Congress. Then Biden’s vicious DOJ arrested him for contempt of Congress, a non crime——and then judges affirmed the charges after the fact—and allowed a partisan DC jury to decide the illegal case.

This is part of his “putting the reputation of the Court first” agenda. He got the liberal Justices to go along with him on the Trump ballot access case. Now it’s time to “prove” that he’s apolitical. He probably promised the liberal Justices as much when he got them to agree to make the ballot case unanimous.
