During the mid to late 1960’s when the Jim Greens were fleeing to Canada, many Americans were upset by these run aways from the Nam war. Many Americans including my Mother and her sisters labeled their leaving America as a good thing. They felt that Canada would end up raising future druggies. It appears that they were correct.

All I know is I live in north Phoenix, AZ. Bought the house in 2004, nice quiet enclave. In the last two years, the high school just down the street has gone completely to hell, and we hear a LOT more sirens, throughout the day, than we used to. Last summer, a sixteen-year old was gunned down right across from that high school across the street from in a park where I used to play basketball with my kid, within walking distance of our house.
We hear gun shots frequently at night, all around us. Usually somewhat in the distance, sometimes very close. People on Ring and other community apps often dismiss them as fireworks or backfiring from cars. Thing is, I damned well know what is a firework and a gunshot. To me they have distinctive sounds. I realize sometimes sound can play tricks, but usually fireworks aren’t followed by return fire, which we have heard. I have heard sirens now for the entire time I have been typing this, 8:48 am on a Saturday morning.
Too long, too bland, too polite, too Canadian.

How is Vancouver any different from what is happening in major US cities. Maybe we are a few years behind, but everything he said about Vancouver, B.C. Canada could be said about NY City or San Francisco.
From what I know about Canada, the only sane large city there is, is Calgary which, as far as I know, has always been conservative.

Also, In the article, there is a link to the film, “Vancouver is Dying”. Very sad, over 30 years ago Vancouver was truly, an exceptionally beautiful and KIND city. Unlike any I had ever visited.
Today’s Left, is a completely different creature, terrifying in its determination to transform our world.
