Some conservatives are of the opinion that Fetterman is a Deep State plant, and his sensible comments about Menendez, Israel, and border control are meant to confuse and distract us.
Time will tell. But it’s looking more and more to me that Fetterman is instead an old-fashioned, classical liberal. More like Harry Truman than Bernie Sanders.

The republicans still have the power to block any terrible candidate for the USSC in an opening comes up. But they won’t.
He knows the Democrats will only support far left liberals on the Supreme Court. He will support who the Democrats want on the Supreme Court, so there is no need for him say anything about it. Menendez is so corrupt Democrats are turning on and want to replace him. He is an easy target to attack, while his trial drags on in the courts, independently from the Senate.
By keeping his mouth shut on Sotomayor and baiting Menendez, Fetterman looks like a moderate, when he as left as the rest of the Senate's Democrats.

The seat will always go to a Hispanic woman. So the obvious replacement would be AOC. There’s nothing in the Constitution that says justices have to have a law degree.
