Iran’s response and the just released statement was greenlit by Russia and China two days ago. Russia and China have agreed to defend Iran’s statement diplomatically after the “attack” is over.

Yes. I think there were about three killed.
Exactly! There are finite reasons why this could be, including the ones you pointed out. The other ones include some scary scenarios, including involvement of China behind the scenes, Iran's nuclear program being further along than we think, the involvement of traitors within the current US administration who are running point for Iran, or even their knowledge and involvement in coordinated terrorist and infrastructure attacks on the US.
