Johnson gave a similar line to the Times: “I really do believe the intel. I think that Vladimir Putin would continue to march through Europe if he were allowed.

I was told that Russia has been mired in the Donbas for 2 years, moving only a few meters per day

I was told that Russia has taken half a million dead and lost their original army

I was told that Russia has lost thousands of tanks

I was told that the Russian economy is being strangled by sanctions and is the verge of bankruptcy.

I was told Putin is dying of cancer

Now I'm told Russia will sweep across Europe unless Ukraine gets more money

It’s bad enough that traitorous Mike Johnson supported this but isn’t Trump now supporting this too?

I don’t think he caved. He supports sending arms to Ukraine, just like a majority of other Republicans in the Congress do. And I might add Trump could have stopped it if he wanted to but he did not.

it was “sobering briefings” he received after becoming speaker. “It was the intelligence, it was the Europe generals who are in charge of the freedom of the world and of course it was the developments as well, everything has escalated,” he told the outlet.

BS. It was a small-town hick who got elected House Speaker and then got rolled by the Washington establishment and is going to stay rolled so Politico can keep saying nice things about him.

Somethings up that's for sure. Johnson met with Trump, then proceeded to betray the conservative masses across America. I was hopefully that change was coming when Johnson became speaker, but now all I see is another traitor. And if Trump gave him his blessing over these bills, well, I'm about done with the entire thing.

Will I still vote for Trump, yes, unless something really drastic happens between now and November. But will he now have my full confidence, no, and neither will the House or Senate.

All I see are a majority of politicians committing traitorous acts, ignoring the wellbeing of US citizens, and bringing our country closing to destruction.

Johnson ought to be ashamed of himself, but like all traitorous politicians, I'm sure he's not.

Well if the GOP didn’t allow funding the corrupt oligarch government of Ukraine would have fallen just before the election and would have lead to everyone losing their mind in the mainstream media and blaming it on the GOP.

The key was to get concessions like border security in exchange for funding.

Or for the Trump approach border security AND increased European funding also.

He absolutely did cave. No one would argue that our national security is the number one issue, now and always. It is always the number one priority.

Johnson’s actions spoke loudly, clearly, and in no uncertain terms, that he, the democrats and many Republicans do not consider border security as the most important issue of our time, and NOT their number one priority.

Johnson had incredible leverage there, not only on our national security, but actually any issue, and he gave it away for NOTHING!

Ooops, I stand corrected, he did get a democratic party flag-waving party in return.

Johnson had no leverage. At least 85% of the House — including most of those who voted against this stupid bill — are fully on board with the foreign/corporate welfare agenda.

Trump can’t be seen as opposing a bill that gives tens of billions of dollars of corporate welfare to defense contractors who employ tens of thousands of white people in Republican House districts.

I disagree.

He should have insisted on national security FIRST, and let those that did not believe in national security being our highest priority--go "on the record" by voting against a border security bill first!

He had incredible leverage there, and totally wasted it.

Johnson could have let the the RINOs that support this introduce a discharge petition and bring this to floor without his consent.

Johnson that one the promised he wouldn't bring the bill to the floor without a deal on the border.

So, he absolutely owns this bill.

And, I don't believe 85% of the House Republicans supported aid to Ukraine. I believe half voted against aid to Ukraine.

Or, he’s got a razor thin majority and a Democrat Senate and Democrat White House. Do people at the Federalist live in reality? What do they want this man to do when his own party is unable to stand together??? Some people (many on this website) actually want to be in the minority because then all they have to do is sit back and bitch about everything.

He got more than that.

He also got a democrat "flag-waving party".

And, don't forget early in this war we were repeatedly told Russia was running out of ammo and missiles.

More than two years later, Russia keeps cranking out ammo and missiles at faster rate than West combined can.

“Trump can’t be seen as opposing a bill that gives tens of billions of dollars of corporate welfare to defense contractors who employ tens of thousands of white people in Republican House districts.”

Bullshit. It has ZERO to do with our defense contractors. Aid to Ukraine is not purposed on aiding U.S. defense contractors. That’s a Leftist/Liberal idea about our military spending and why populists in the GOP are parroting that makes no sense other than willful ignorance and pretending Putin is not the aggressor.
