Represented Newark pretty much means it’s a safe seat for Dems.

One other comment- guy was put on a ventilator the day of the event, and never came off it. It kept him alive, as long as it breathed for him. Wonder why it took family so long to pull the plug. Just a thought. 17 full 24 hour days on a ventilator meant the blood chemistry was not coming back such that could breathe on his own.

Gallagher also waited because if he didn’t resign until a certain date, Wisconsin law does not allow a special election for his seat. Thus, it remains empty for the balance of the year, a ruby Red seat and he obviously knew this. Biden gave him some special Navy award last week, who knows what else he has been given or promised. A real low life of a guy, pretending to be a Trump conservative.

Agree. I think many of these people lie to Trump and lie to their constituents when they say they support him/MAGA in order to get voted in but are saying/doing very different things behind the scenes with the Dems and Never Trumpets.

Perhaps his family was more religious than typical Democrats and was hoping for a miracle.

Isn’t that when Torricelli was under investigation and dropped off the ticket? A judge approved a replacement when the ticket was already closed. They pulled Frank Lautenberg out of the closet and dusted him off for prime-time.

Also, the vacancy is too close to the general election to call for a special election.
————-
All depends on what the NJ state law says about a special election v. leaving the seat vacant for the general election. Unlike a vacated senate seat, there’s no appointment for a representative seat.

I wondered why they kept him on the ventilator for so long. Probably has something to do with his replacement.

Oh, no. He has been brain dead for years. While voting the straight democrat party line like the good Congressional Black Caucus socialist he is. Voting too by proxy I will wager since early April too.

Just now, he won’t be breathing while he votes.
