If you don't mind, I'll take God's word for it.

The Canadian exploration company that discovered the formations, Advanced Digital Communications ADC signed a deal with Castro to split the profits (50% Fidel, 10% Cuban partner, 40% ADC) from the recovery of any Spanish Galleons. That is what ADC is really after. There are a dozen or so known wrecks in Cuban waters which have not been explored because of the depth. ADC thinks they can get down to them.
The "sunken city" is a nice cover. National Geographic can foot part of the bill without being tainted by helping to further enrich Fidel Castro.

Exactly. They find scientific proof, yet they refuse to admit it's real, just keep on insisting it's all a 'myth'.
We have all lived through 3 major catastrophes in this country: Bubba's 1st election, Bubba's 2nd election, and the election of the Hildabeast.

"The "sunken city" is a nice cover. National Geographic can foot part of the bill without being tainted by helping to further enrich Fidel Castro." I think National Geographic bailed out of the deal with ADC.

Hmmm.... The sunken city and Galleons are a natural for them. Must be Castro. Or maybe it is ADC.

There is SOMETHING behind the fact of near universal flood myths... Aren't floods still the most deadly natural disaster?

The study of Pyramidology looks into the construction of the pyramids but also deals with the "Deluge". I once read a book where flood myths throughout the world were documented. Interestingly, the Mandan Indians of North Dakota had a cultural legend of a flood which engulfed all of mankind except those who were saved by riding in a large canoe.
Unfortunately, I left that book on an Air Force jet while "hitchhiking home on leave. I left Omaha with a SAC General who was due to testify before Congress, (spring of 72) and when we reached Andrews I was in such a hurry to catch a 141 going to McGuire I forgot that book in the seat pocket. I did search and found links to the winslow@squirespublishing.co.uk where this information can be obtained.
Why is their a pyramid on the back of a $1 bill? The engraver believed in pyramidology and incorporated it in the design. The "all seeing eye" that floats atop the pyramid is part of the mythic belief system of the pyramidologist!

Thanks for the ping and the info.

do you have sites with more information on these data, particularly the 540 ad impact/event?

2354BC, is also within a century of the estimated date of a comet/asteroid crater impact in iraq which, it is spectulated, caused enough sunlight blockage to create chaos/famine in the entire near and middle east, collapsing most if not all social systems there...

The link below is from a university in England and contains articles and correspondence from virtually every name you have seen on the Discovery Channels, major US newspapers and the BBC in regards to geological and historical neo-catastrophism, asteroid and comet dangers and poking holes in wacko environmentalism.
It contains over 5 years of articles and e-mails (by day) and is searchable. WARNING: this site is addictive

I love reading a post by an intelligent Freeper who manages to look at a situation with clarity of mind and intelligence. However i am sad to say that although your points make absolute sense you will not be able to convince otherwise those who think that this 'discovery' is a sign of the divine.
Think of it, i was watching the History channel the other week, and they had a broadcast from the seventies on the same matter. Thus this 'recent discovery' is just a regurgitation of what some people believed is 'scientific,' but is not.

There was actually an expedition to Mount Alamut where they thought they had found the ark of Noah. And when the scientists and archeologists arrived there they discovered that there was not such ship matter whatsoever.
Thus the turks must have other reasons for sealing off mt Alamut, maybe for national security reasons(since Turkey is under a lot of Islamic threats due to it being an extremely moderate Islamic nation, actually more moderate than many European countries). They are not protecting Noah's ark!

And as a person pointed out, the floods depicted in this article took place quite recently(from a hostorical perspective). The article says that in the Indian case the building were built between 1500 to 2000 years ago, and obviously the floods took place after their being built otherwise they would not have been affected by flooding.
Thus they were built around the time Christ was born, more or less. And, if Noah's flood did happen, i happened LONG before the birth of Christ!
IMHO i think what happened here is some widespread flooding that totally shocked the local populace, but clearly not a worldwide flood.
And as an interesting aside. It was noted by scholars that there are Babylonian stories that are doppelgangers of the story in Genesis, that were dated long before the Pentatauch (the first five books written by Moses...eg Genesis, Deuteronomy etc) were written. And to them the story of a flood is based on the Babylonian legends. Not my point but theirs!

You are something else!!!! And probably RIGHT too!

Somewhere, I have an underwater map of the world during the Ice Age, with the world ocean levels reduced by 300 feet, it shows a lot of interesting things. It shows the Red Sea landlocked, the Persian Gulf is completely dry and numberous other things like that. The Red Sea (at some point) had to 'break-through' and re-connect with the worlds oceans, quite a flood, huh?
This scenerio probably played out many times around the world in the last 10k years and produced many flood stories. Most scientists agree that the worlds oceans were reduced, in the ice age, by 300-500 feet, with most accepting 400 feet.
I'd bet money that the Gulf Of Mexico was blocked off at one time also.
