I hope and pray that those fabulous photos of Americans and Canadians supporting our Country reach the troops in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
For sure they don't seem to find coverage in our home media.

I know these threads take up a lot of your time, and I have huge admiration and appreciation for what you do.
As to the media, they are hell bent on spreading a defeatist message that is far from the truth. Did you watch Russert this morning? I wanted to reach through the screen and smack him a good one. On and on he droned trying to create an image of coalition forces "bogged down in a quagmire, caught by surprise, insufficient number of forces, forces discouraged", yadayada. Did these idiots expect an eight hour war?

It's the M-240G general purpose machinegun that replaced the M-60.

That pic of Iraqi SAM's hitting Baghdad is awesome. I can't wait to smack down some liberal with that.

Yes, that's a 110Ft Patrol Boat of the "Island" class. They're all named after Islands. There are several of them over there.
Neat boats. Fast, planing hull on a 110footer. Has a side-by-side 20mm on the bow, and a few 50's too.

Great thread. I would love to be on the ping list for these.

Great pic!!
To: Delta 21
Technically it is a "Patrol Boat", hence the WPB##### identifier... but I'll cut you some slack... :-)
And yes, I know that it is still called the "Coast Guard Cutter suchandsuch". But:
WHEC - High Endurance Cutter
WMEC - Medium Endurance Cutter
WPB - Patrol Boat

FBD, GREAT PICTURES. Thanks.
The truth percolating here deserves an Afghanistan FREEDOM UPDATE
========= Bagram =========
In Bagram, Army champion carries her gun as she jogs .
========= Kabul =========
In Kabul, Afghan girls freed by the USA start their first day of the school.
After liberation, the UN demanded that the women rewear the burqa, the
sign of women's enslavement. Today, in rural areas of Afghanistan,
many girls are now re-forbidden to attend school. This probably would not have happened
if the USA took FReeper advice and put a freed Afghani woman in charge.
========= Kandahar =========
In Kandahar, Afghan children, boys and girls, FREED by the USA play without
fear of being raped by the insane Taliban.
========= Chaman border near Western Pakistan =========
Near the Chaman border, Afghan girls in a refugee camp
as the River of Freedom from America overflows even through the Axis of Evil

There's something so poignant about those pictures with those big old tough soldiers carrying those children so tenderly!
God Bless our Troops and all the Coalition Troops!

DATE ON PHOTO
A still image taken off video shows explosions lighting up the night sky over Baghdad, March 30, 2003. U.S. warplanes struck Baghdad with bombs and missiles in unrelenting air attacks on Sunday after an Iraqi army officer killed four American soldiers in a suicide bombing. Some of the most ferocious air strikes of the war hit government targets in Baghdad in waves and repeatedly blasted Republican Guard positions circling the capital. REUTERS TV
