I'm still at odds with these people calling themselves Progressive. Heck Socialism is an old concept that has never worked yet they try to bring it back under the concept of progressive.
Maybe we should call those that flee "Escaped Vermin". They are much like pests that leave an apartment that has been sprayed and head for the apartment next door.

Democrats/Liberals who move away (Flee!!) from an area because of high taxes, high crime, bad schools, over burdensome regulations, high unemployment, Jobs leaving, etc. In other words they are fleeing the inevitable results of their own Liberal Politics.Easy: Ex-San Franciscans.

My term that I came up with is Malignant Democrats or Malignant Rats because they are most certainly like a spreading cancer.
How about Communist traitors? It is what they are, after all.

How about "hypocrats". :)

Swarms of Locust...and the God ref, will really piss them off. Heck, I enjoy pissing 'em off! I guess I ought to be careful - more than one of my past posts has snatched up by some lurker from DU, and I've been flamed mercilessly - which given the general intelligence level over there means that every other word was of the four-letter variety. Have at me, girls!

Actually, left is very appropriate and can be linked to the Latin for "left", sinistra.
sinister
ADJECTIVE:
1. Suggesting or threatening evil: a sinister smile.
2. Presaging trouble; ominous: sinister storm clouds.
3. Attended by or causing disaster or inauspicious circumstances.
4. On the left side; left.
5. Heraldry Situated on or being the side of a shield on the wearer's left and the observer's right.
ETYMOLOGY: Middle English sinistre, unfavorable, from Old French, from Latin sinister, on the left, unlucky.
OTHER FORMS: sinis·ter·ly ADVERB
sinis·ter·ness NOUN
SYNONYMS: sinister, baleful, malign These adjectives apply to what is indicative of or threatens great harm, disaster, or evil.

"It was some combination of Reagan and Limbaugh that really popularized the term,.."
Liberalism may have been popularized by Reagan and Limbaugh in your mind, but believe me, it predated both of them. Limbaugh is a relative newcomer on the political scene.

I second "Sh_t and Run Democrats." LOL! I think this is true of most of them.
In one of my teacher certification classes, there were about 30 lefty whiners and the entire class consisted of sitting around whining and hand-wringing about the awful condition of these poor, poor children in the inner city and their terrible schools in the inner city (and of course the evil Republicans and capitalists who did this to them). One girl (thankfully) raised her hand and said, "it's great you all seem to be really concerned about the plight of these poor inner-city kids, but how many of you are actually planning to teach in one of these 'bad' schools?" ONE person out of about 30 raised their hands. They love sitting around complaining and blaming and taking everybody's money, but will do nothing themselves.

A certain type of nesting instinct is at work here. Not comfortable in the former nest which has been befouled, the female cowbird crowds into the nests of less assertive birds, and lays its eggs. The unwitting foster parent incubates the eggs, and when hatched, the more agressive cowbird young push the natural offspring out of the nest, to perish. The still unsuspecting foster parents strive to fill the voracious appetites of the cowbirds, until the young cowbirds take wing and desert the nest, which is now unfit as habitat for either cowbirds or its erstwhile nurturing parents.

There already is a perfectly good word to describe the liberal mindset. It is Plutocrat. The wealthy govern you, but exempt themselves from the consequences.

Ah, you are describing the State employee pensioners, eh? ;-)

Liberal is too kind. Socialist is much more applicable. I spread a liberal amount of raspberry jam on my toast. Liberal sounds generous and possibly kind. These folks are out to change the country to a form of National Socialism. IMO, no cutesy little liberal name can describe the dark destiny these Socialist Warts have so carefully planned.

Let's look at this problem from both sides. Since I am a Catholic Freeper, I have some insight here. I joined a small urban parish that experienced white flight in the 60s and 70s. When my job moved to a new city, I had to move on. I worked in the food pantry with the generally liberal old widows and gals that stayed on in the old neighborhood. Truth is, these old dems had as much spunk as any freeper. I miss that Parish. The important thing to note, is that the old timers felt deeply betrayed by the fleeing liberals. The story has played itself out in every city. A beautiful church and neighborhood abandoned because of fear. Its the betrayal aspect that needs to be highlighted. I think the name for these type of liberals is " SEGRAGATIONIST LIBERAL".
