I concur that the "Windover Family" needs to be "Humanized."

I will also add, for all, that I have been in contact with Bill Jones, the author of the above main article. He is a retired USAF Officer (1950-'73) who lives in Alaska, a real hotbed of archaeological discovery, and who is very interested in pre-Columbian America. He also did something that puts him high in my esteem. He called me (at age 60)"a young guy." He also gave me some links that I haven't tried yet, that I will check out and pass along.

I've looked at most of those links but, I still can't get the VJRI (Vendy Jones Research Institute) link to work, others are interesting.

Good article. I was watching a special on the pyramids a few months ago and I guess they now think that the first one may be 10,000+ years old.

We seem to learn more and more everyday about the past.

"The injury is such that Doran thinks it was caused by a human wielding the antler in anger. He says that the wound is counter to previously stated views of these people as passive."

"(They) cared for each other; by indulging and taking care of the handicapped."

Where's the evidence that proves this?

Why do anthropologists always seem to assume that ancient cultures are peaceful and egalitarian? Time after time, they find out they were wrong when they later discover signs of warfare, human sacrifice, cannibalism, slavery, or so forth. I don't understand why they even make such prognostications......

Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from this ping list.

Please add me. New information on ancient subjects is not to be missed.

Check out the chart in post #11. People need help to get that old. The spike a 50 really suprises me.
Also, they can judge from the bones how crippling arthritis and other diseases must have been for some.
Kennewick Man suffered terribly with his injuries, the stone arrow in his hip festered and ran of pus for years, he died about 45 years of age.

I wish they would stop assuming that every ancient culture with any organization was "egalitarian". It causes them to overlook all sorts of things -- like evidence of homicides.
