Bahai’ism is just a johnny-come-lately form of islam imho
Holiness (Asha) is the best of all good:Ahunwar
it is also happiness.
Happy the man who is holy with perfect holiness!
The will of the Lord is the law of righteousness.Interesting, eh?
The gifts of Vohu-mano to the deeds done in this world for Mazda.
He who relieves the poor makes Ahura king.
Yes, they do. Actually, all Iranians of various faiths & ethnicities not only recognize but also celebrate Norooz (Nowruz, different spellings). Norooz for Iranians, regardless of faith or ethnicity, is a national, cultural celebration; it’s part of their cultural/national identity. Especially since it marks the beginning of the official Iranian Solar calendar. Tho, for Iranian-Zoroastrians, Norooz has the additional religious meaning; of course, Norooz has its root in Zoroastrian religion & culture in Iran.
It is interesting. Ahunwar is one if not the most sacred Zoroastrian text (prayer) in Khordeh Avesta (book of common prayers). It basically means that as God was creating the world, the seed of righteousness was the first gift (characteristic) bestowed upon the world, therefore, humankind (referring to a state of mind = good mind); hence what follows being Good Thoughts, Good Words & Good Deeds... - Ashem Vohu is the blessing of righteousness.
>>>”I wonder what Achmadinejad and the Ayatollahs in Iran think about Zoroastrianism.”<<<
They use Zoroastrianism & Zoroastrian cultural heritage of Iran in any way that suits them, both inside Iran as well as outside to foreigners & Iranian expats. They often try to mix Islam w/ Zoroastrian cultural celebrations, traditions & customs. Or, try to show how tolerant they (Islam) is by pointing out that Shia Imams accepted Norooz - kinda put a Shi’ite spin on it.
Tho, letting a moslem born Iranian convert to Zoroastrianism is a definite no no & will get you hanged or in prison, tortured until you denounce & renounce it. Also, “religious minorities” are not allowed to have or broadcast their own public radio or tv programs, where they can openly discuss their religious beliefs & teachings w/ wider moslem Iranians.
>>>”An interesting book just out. I’m surprised that it is being published in Iran.. “<<<
I wonder if it is going to be limited edition in Iran. Tho, books about Zoroastrianism, or pre-Islamic history of Iran are usually not banned in Iran. You can also easily buy a fravahar necklace or pendant, etc.. in Iran.
It is the conversion to Zoroastrianism for moslem born Iranians and public broadcast (and interaction) of it which is ‘verboten’; they view the latter as proselytizing.
Yep, that's what I meant.
