Salvation is through the reliance on the shed blood of Christ and His atonement of our sins. Not on membership in some organization or rituals of man.
As it is part of the catechism that is staunchly entrenched in the beliefs of the Catholic Church. With the current trend of the Catholic Church and its “inclusionary” approach to all religions those Catholics who are truly looking for truth had better open there hearts to Jesus alone or will suffer the wrath of God.

It was not the physical flesh and blood but was the spiritual.
Here Jesus Himself says that it is the SPIRIT who gives life and that the flash counts for or profits NOTHING. He says that the words He spoke give life.
So which is it? The flesh and blood do or do not give life? The Spirit does or does not give life?
Has to be one or the other.
The eating of blood is strictly forbidden in the Law.
In the sacrifices, the blood is for the atonement and is poured out. It is NEVER consumed.
Jesus could not have commanded anyone to drink His blood without becoming a Law breaker, making Him then ineligible to be the sinless Lamb of God.
Eating Jesus does not cause Him to live in your heart by faith.
Don't eat the blood, the life is in the blood
