Seoul is standing firm against Washington's repeated pressure for a hefty increase in its share of the cost for the upkeep of the 28,500-strong United States Forces Korea (USFK) stationed here. Although the lack of deal has put thousands of Korean workers at U.S. military bases on unpaid leave, the government is not accepting the U.S. demand, but instead responding by setting up special laws to support the workers. "Korea and the U.S. are still in negotiations over the defense cost-sharing deal and nothing has been officially decided yet," the foreign ministry said in a statement Thursday. Cheong Wa Dae...

It’s just the flu, bro. Mistake 1 - Lockdown We all know that the lockdown was a stupid idea. The curve could always have been flattened by voluntary means and by putting a special emphasis on the dangers to very old/sick. Mistake 2 - keeping the lockdown After it became clear that the curve didn’t need to be flattened and that hospitals were laying people off, then the lockdown should have been ended. But the government tyrants doubled down. Mistake 3 - paying people and businesses 39k to use a ventilator on someone...giving people 20 dollars an hour not to...

Democratic Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar -- self-styled feminists who bought every flimsy claim made against now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh -- have chosen to stand by Joe Biden in the face of a sexual assault allegation made against him by a former staffer. The MeToo movement, which followed a New York Times' expose on Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's abuse and degradation of women in the entertainment industry, was supposed to prove that the feminist movement was a moral entity committed to fair treatment of women, even when big Democratic figures...

It was General George Washington who said, "If you want peace, prepare for war." It's time for America's business owners to fight back against a tyrannical government. Some might call that a revolution. But in this case, I'm talking about a war fought in the courts. I'm talking about a legal battle. It's time for lawsuits -- lots of them. It's time to defend our civil rights. It's time to defend our property rights. It's time to make tyrant governors understand this isn't a dictatorship and we're not their serfs. First an important question about the coronavirus. I am impressed...

The Army Times appointed as its top editor a 28-year-old feminist from Brooklyn who has repeatedly tweeted that she hates President Donald Trump and worked as a spokeswoman for a New York councilman who describes himself as a “moderate Democrat.” After interning for several Democrats, graduating Hofstra University in 2014, and contemplating art school, Sarah Sicard wrote for a marijuana publication called the “Bluntness,” served as communications director for a New York city council member, and worked in corporate PR, according to her resume and online bios.

Whether or not he is re-elected, Donald Trump will be revered by conservatives for his judicial appointments. As of March, Trump has appointed 193 judges to the federal bench, with another 39 pending on the floor of the Senate or in the Senate judiciary committee. Those nominations will surely be acted on favorably by the Senate before 20 January 2021, when there may be a new president and a new Senate. There are another 38 district court vacancies awaiting nominations. In one presidential term, Trump may appoint up to 270 federal judges, or 31% of the entire federal judiciary. For...

In the eyes of many, Dallas salon owner Shelley Luther has become the latest face of justified resistance against governmental tyranny for her steadfast refusal to back down on keeping her business open despite the prospect of going to jail. Luther’s Salon a la Mode opened for business last Friday, then promptly got slapped with a court order to close because of coronavirus restrictions. Instead of meekly complying, as most others doubtless would have, Luther stood outside her salon and literally ripped the thing to shreds. Indeed, it was a moment that would have made Patrick Henry proud. (I’m also...

I was sad for a lot of reasons when former Vice President Joe Biden emerged as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. I had supported Elizabeth Warren and would have enthusiastically voted for Bernie Sanders. They have big ideas, passion and an unquestionable commitment to making life better for working people. Biden feels like a page from the past. But OK. Democratic voters are angry, exhausted and appalled by the presidency of Donald Trump. As the primaries wore on, they sought refuge in the comfortable, the familiar. They wanted a return to sanity, not a revolution. Like an old slipper, Biden...

Warning, Citizens: Your all-powerful Mayor, the heavy-handed and exalted by self-decree Lori Lightfoot, has now decreed that having a dinner party or family gathering is officially a “crime” in Chicago. Here is Mayor Lightfoot warning you directly, complete with subtitles: Jonathan T Gilliam ✔ @JGilliam_SEAL Hey Liberals, take note of this video. The First Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” That’s unambiguous. Not “pretty unambiguous,” just unambiguous. Full stop. Yet governors across the country are ignoring or suspending almost every one of those rights enumerated at the top of the Bill of Rights, with little to no pushback from the press, which just happens to be the only part of the...

We live on 15 acres pretty far out in the country and have a free roaming German Shepherd Dog that's quite the guard dog, to say the least. Our driveway is at least 750 feet long from the county road to our garage where I have a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign. Our GSD is friendly to aloof with people, but ferocious towards vehicles. Recently he bit and pierced two front tires of a visiting friend's car as they were parking by our garage. That cost me $350. He's also done this to one tire on my nephew's truck. My nephew...

Friday on Fox News Channel, “Fox News Sunday,” anchor Chris Wallace said he did not understand why people were “rallying” behind ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn given he lied to the FBI. Thursday, President Donald Trump said Flynn has been “essentially exonerated” by new documents unsealed in his criminal case. Wallace said, “And I was kind of surprised that the President said yesterday, ‘Well, maybe I’ll bring him back to the White House.’ It was the President, before any legal case was brought, who fired Flynn because Flynn had lied about his conversation with the Russian ambassador to the Vice...

Older people will "rebel and risk prison" if they are forced to remain in lockdown longer while restrictions are eased, a former Tory pensions minister has warned. Conservative peer Baroness Altmann argued such a requirement would be "age discrimination" and could cost lives as well as threaten social unrest. Her comments come amid growing concern the over-70s could be told to isolate for longer than the rest of the population when the rules to cope with COVID-19 start to be relaxed. The government has previously said people in this age group are especially vulnerable to coronavirus. Speaking to Sky News'...

The Navy awarded a $795-million contract to Fincantieri to begin building a new class of guided-missile frigates, in the first new major shipbuilding program the service has started in more than a decade, the Navy announced today. Fincantieri beat out what was originally four other competitors, who were asked by the Navy to take a mature parent design and evolve it to meet the Navy’s needs for potential high-end warfare. Fincantieri, which will build its frigate at its Marinette Marine shipyard in Wisconsin, based its FFG(X) design on the FREMM multi-mission frigate already operated by the French and Italian navies....
