Thousands of Michigan residents are planning a major protest against state Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday by driving to the state capitol building, vowing to demonstrate against the governor's broad coronavirus lockdown measures. The protest, named "Operation Gridlock," had nearly 4,000 participants listed on its Facebook event page as of Tuesday afternoon. The activists are urging citizens to drive to the state's capital, Lansing, on Wednesday at noon. The event's description reads:

Despite the Governor’s best efforts to incite and ruin the VCDL rally for Lobby Day in Richmond, the crowds were calm, patriotic, and respectful with no incidents reported. All of the left’s media outlets screamed like Chicken Little over this rally and nothing happened. They were all wrong. It is estimated that the crowd was 50,000+. At one point the crowd was estimated to be twice that amount.

TUPELO, MS — Supporters of President Trump began lining up overnight in anticipation of a campaign rally Friday night in Tupelo, Mississippi to shore up support for Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves, the Republican nominee for governor, who will face Democratic candidate Jim Hood in November. President Donald Trump is tentatively planning to travel to Monroe, Louisiana, next week to headline a rally for Republican governor’s candidate Eddie Rispone, sources with direct knowledge of the plans have told USA Today Network.
